Red Cross Blood Drive, Skydive Taft, 22 May 2010

Recommended Posts

I dunno... skydivers donating blood and playing with fire... I'm not sure this is such a good idea... :D:D:P

But seriously, check this out if you can. Its for a good cause and sounds like much fun to be had.

May 22nd is turning out to be a BIG day for Skydive Taft. We've managed radio and
television interviews and advertisement and we have a lot of community support for
our fundraising efforts. We hope to have the support of all of our regular
skydivers.

We're going to turn this into a boogie event. For a $20 fee you'll get bbq, tshirt,
raffle ticket and there's going to be a keg. All of the proceeds from that will go
to the Red Cross.

There's going to be so much fun stuff to do this weekend. Bring your family to
visit the first community showing of the new STEM lab from the college. A very nice
mobile science lab that's hooked up to the Green Apple Valley Telescope. There is
also going to be a fire simulator trailer here with water filled fire extinguishers
for all ages to practise putting out different types of fires. We will be holding a
raffle and one raffle ticket is included with boogie fee. The community of Taft has
really helped out and donated some nice items for the raffle.

Pictures will be taken and a story will be wrote and published for the USPA
magazine, Taft Chamber of Commerce newsletter and the Taft's finest newspapers.

I really, really hope to see everyone out here. This is the first time Skydive Taft
has had an event like this and we hope to make it an annual occurrence. Your support
will be greatly appreciated.

Blue Skies,

Skydive Taft
