Kennedy 0 #1 April 1, 2011 Anyone flown there or heard of it? I saw it listed in Parachutist. New dz? Tandem farm or real dz? I Tried calling and got no answer. I was at the airport a few months ago after an aircraft crash into the water and I didn't see anything to suggest a dz. Anyone know anything about this place?witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

Hug1 0 #8 April 2, 2011 It appears to be a tandem factory for the tourist in the area. There is no mention of experienced jumpers or cost for fun jumps C. Huggins
Kennedy 0 #9 April 3, 2011 That's what it looks like to me, too. I've been hoping a dz would open up, but I was afraid this is how it would go. No open spaces, no good outs, lots of water = no one want to let jumpers jump. I looked, and it looks bad even for a farm. 9000 feet and 30 seconds of freefall? Weak! I was hoping someone knew something that would prove my fears unfounded, but no such luck. I may swing by, but I don't expect much of a welcome or a long stay. I haven't tried Suffolk or Tradewinds yet. I've been at Raeford for the tunnel. Spring in Carolina sucks for jumping.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
Deisel 38 #10 April 3, 2011 Broham - I'm not the one trying to get info on this place. Help me help you. And it just so happens that I'm a NC jumper and would advise that you got to Triangle instead. Good, solid folks out there. And when you actually want to do some real jumping, head on over to Raeford. We'll leave a light on for you! Kennedy 0 #11 April 4, 2011 Triangle is three hours away on a good day. An as it happens I've been there a few times. Had a nasty experience with a rigger that doesn't work there any more. Never got around to jumping. Place didn't strike me as much of a dz. Oh, they had some hangar space and a plane to jump from, but none of the things that make a dz feel like a dz. I don't know if they've changed, but I didn't plan on going back. Raeford isn't exactly nearby, but it's no further than Raleigh, and at least it's a known quantity. Plus the tunnel being just down the road doesn't hurt.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
