nigel99 569 #1 June 17, 2011 Any potential A or B license jumpers are interested in an informal accuracy competition at the Farm 25th June let popsjumper know. It should be a fun way to get a couple of accuracy jumps in towards your license. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Andy has suggested breaking it into sub 100 and sub 200. That sucks cause it puts me against you guys going for your CExperienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Divalent 145 #15 June 27, 2011 Thanks to PopsJumper for organizing this friendly competition. There were 9 entrants, and a fun time was had by all. (I.e., no broken bones; and in my book, any jump where you eventually arrive safely on the ground without a broken bone is a fun jump.) I didn't make the podium, although I did get one jump within 10 meters, so I did accumulate one more target landing for my B licenses. More importantly, it was a great opportunity to learn, review, and practice techniques for better accuracy, and to discover my weak points. So very beneficial (even if I didnt make the podium ). nigel99 569 #16 June 28, 2011 Thanks for putting it together Andy. We all had fun and learn't something. We'll have to do it again as soon as Kevin is over 200 jumps. We did 3 jumps with the distances added up. 9 of us competed with 3 out on a pass, highest wingloading first and open at 3k, next at 4k and last out at 5k. After 2 jumps we had a debrief and reviewed canopy flight. Quite a few "up-jumpers" were shooting the target on the full altitude loads to see how they would do as well. Kevin won with a grand total of 3 feet (he has about 170 jumps). If you are working on your accuracy for your A, B, C license or Pro rating, I would strongly recommend getting people together and doing a competition. All it needs is a frisby, a tape measure and a willing judge. It is ideal if an instructor is prepared to judge as you can include the debrief after 1 or 2 jumps.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
