Skydiving in Texas

Just wondering... having jumped at almost every dropzone in Texas... which do you consider the best, and why.... It's awesome to have sooooo many choices. Blues skies... be safe.

I have done most of my jumps at Skydive Dallas so I suppose you could argue that it's my favorite. I have a lot of friends there and it has a really big landing area with plenty of great choices for out's. It definitely has above average facility. The bunk rooms are clean and comfortable. Huge packing areas. Manifest is well run and efficient.

But If I lived in the Houston area most of my jumps would be at Skydive Houston. If I lived in the Austin area most of my jumps would be at Skydive San Marcos.

Each dropzone has it's own personality and I like each one for different reasons.

I've only been to SDH after choosing them for my AFF this year based on the proximity to home.

I really don't think it could have worked out better either. A very welcoming bunch all round.

It has been and continues to be awesome.

Have to agree with Lobos here.
Skydive Dallas is by far the friendliest, most professionally run, and has the highest talent level of any dropzone in the state.

Skydive Spaceland is the best dropzone in Texas!

1. Air conditioned packing ten seconds from loading
2. Puffies
3. Wingsuiters
4. Great staff
5. Great pilots
6. Many Otters, skyvans, etc.
7. Close to civilization (35 - 40 min to Houston)
