Boomer10 0 #1 June 29, 2012 What is the closest wind tunnel to Ft. Walton Beach? My job is taking me away from my local DZ on Saturday so I was hoping to supplement my training with a little bit of tunnel time. Any help would be appreciated.
JohnRich 4 #2 June 29, 2012 You'll get a better response if you tell everyone what State Ft. Walton is in, as there might be more than one city by that name, or many people won't recognize it.
NWFlyer 2 #3 June 29, 2012 Nowhere really close. Your closest is in Orlando, clear on the other side of the state."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
BobMoore 0 #4 June 29, 2012 Orlando! Now we're getting somewhere! Is this Orlando, Nebraska? You know, the way the Gulf of Mexico kinda gets in the way of automobile travel, going from the Florida panhandle to Orlando might be longer than going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home of Dolly World and all that touristy stuff. I assume the wind tunnel is still there? To the original poster, I'm afraid you're out of luck finding a conveniently close wind tunnel to Ft. Walton Beach. I've vacationed there. It's one of my favorite places."For you see, an airplane is an airplane. A landing area is a landing area. But a dropzone... a dropzone is the people." Boomer10 0 #5 July 1, 2012 John, I actually meant to put the state in the original post. Thanks for all of the info. It was a moot point anyways since we didn't get to Eglin until late and left early the next day.
gavi_omen 0 #6 July 12, 2012 That's unfortunate. Fort Walton's not a terrible place to be...except for skydiving...There's no such thing as free will; everything is dictated by the Uncertainty Principle.
