grimmie 186 #4 February 11, 2014 We now allow WS jumps if you have 500 total jumps and 70 WS jumps. We bring in the A-Star during our boogies. The next time will be either Cinco De Mayo or or Labor Day Surf's Up Boogie. $70 to 5K. We require a USPA "B" minimum.
ianyapxw 0 #5 February 12, 2014 I'm curious, why are helicopter jumps so expensive? Is it because it costs more to operate or for other reasons? Also wondering why 'B' license? Sorry, I'm sure my whuffo-ness is quite apparent.
CalBear 0 #6 February 13, 2014 Ok thanks for the info! I have to work on getting my B license then! Should easily have it by May 5th
grimmie 186 #7 February 16, 2014 We had a lengthy battle to be on the airport. At first it was C or D only, and then after 6 months of everyone landing on the LZ, we negotiated it to a B. We have about 32 acres of landing area surrounded by city. An A-Star helicopter costs a lot per hour for all of those moving parts. The owner/pilot loves skydiving and skydivers and he pretty much only breaks even on the deal.
