AviationTD 0 #1 March 11, 2014 Anyone knows about this dropzone? Still active? I am going to Charleston, SC (family trip) for the rest of this week. I am planning to sneak out one of those days to jump. Just wanted to make sure because of potential hassles at TSA. Do they have a rigging service that will be available for repack in case I am forced to remove the reserve pack?
PhreeZone 20 #2 March 12, 2014 If you are referring to http://www.southcarolinaskydiving.com/ the phone number is the same one as Atlanta Skydiving Center. They may have actual facilities but they might also just be doing domain host advertising for a DZ and will direct you to their DZ in a different state also. For more details search Skyride in these forums. Skydive Myrtle Beach is a great option if you can make the drive, its on the ocean and focuses on fun jumpers alot!Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
firemedic 7 #3 March 12, 2014 Unfortunately PhreeZone is correct. This is a Domain Name that ASC uses so no facility. Skydive Myrtle Beach, Skydive Walterboro and Skydive Carolina are the choices. Walterboro is a cessna DZ weekend only. Myrtle Beach and Skydive Carolina both fly Turbines and operate during the week. Give em a call. I PMd the phone numbers to you. joelaposta 0 #4 March 13, 2014 This drop zone is still active, but they are closed for the winter. They will be opening in May I believe. They have a Cessna 205 and they are very friendly to fun jumpers. Unfortunately that doesn't help much since you are only here for a weekend.
