mjosparky 4 #1 April 7, 2005 For those that knew him, Bill Edwards (Dirty Ed) was found in his trailer this morning. It appears he died in his sleep. SparkyMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
skybill 22 #2 April 7, 2005 Hi Spark, I weep. A piece of my heart has just died also. George "Dirty Ed" Edwards was my good friend. From my first daze at Elsinore in 1967 onward, Dirty was always there with his smile, humor, wit and snide remarks!! I guess I've known him in his less that gruff years. Hell, I even talk to Bob Butt now. They must be getting old! ElCap173 0 #10 April 9, 2005 This is a sad day for the Air Trash family. I will miss Ed's cantankerous but humorous ways. Dirty Ed was one of the original "dirty dozen" of Air Trash. Who can name the other 11 ? Ed, have you recited "Old Nell" up there yet ??? Rest in peace brother. Bully

MissBuffDiver 0 #12 April 11, 2005 Hey Buddy, I just found this website. Cool site. Dirty Ed? What can I say? Hmmmm!? I met him in 1970. I knew him, I loved him. He made me laugh, he made me cry. He helped me, he hurt me. HE WAS DIRTY ED!!!! My Skydiving HERO. I Truly Loved This Man. He was a Big, Bad Sweetheart. This is a woman's point of view. Men didn't know him the same as us women did. Am I right LADIES? Yes I am. He will be remembered with a smile! SandySandy
GreenLight 8 #13 April 11, 2005 Hey Sandy! Ya this is a cool site to keep up with what's going on in the real world of Sky Diving. And yes, from what I have been reading, Dirty had a completely different relationship with his women friends than the men... We men will miss him just the same though... Hope you can make it to the memorial on June 4th at Perris... LarryGreen Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question." skr 1 #14 April 15, 2005 I got an email from Pat Swovelin last week. I met Bill at Elsinore in 1964. It's funny, I thought of him as "Dirty Ed" but I always called him "Bill" out of habit. He's in so many of my 60s Elsinore memories that I don't even want to think about it, although I have been. He made a difference. His life had meaning. And a *lot* of jump stories :-) :-) I remember the Orange Sunshine in Terry's going away to jail cake. Skratch

Skratch Skratch, You are right, his life did have meaning. I learn a lot about jumping and life in general from him. I used to call him "Sweet William". I drove him nuts. But he liked it better then George. SparkyMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
