SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 May 20, 2002 Wouldn't it be better to put all these in one post? How exactly did this happen anyways? There's no tomorrow - you ain't gonna live it for me - The Offspring
nacmacfeegle 0 #3 May 20, 2002 Okay....Those are the handles we were discussing a while back. The knot appears to be a variation on what we used to call a munter hitch in climbing, its a belay knot that is easy to lock off under load, which is what happened to me.The cause, brake line stows in the riser near the line attachment point, a loop from these passed over the toggle, which when pulled on opening, created the knot we see here.I post this in case anyone else is stowing brake lines in their risers........The canopy was a Spectre loaded at 1.6+ I decided I couldn't land it safely, for a variety of reasons, and choppped. For the record my PD176R put me down nicely. A stand up in the peas if you will I fool so feelish.CyaD

nacmacfeegle 0 #7 May 20, 2002 The other thing in retrospect is that fact that I use slinks, prolly not a good idea. I hear that Parachutist has something on this, sadly my copy gets delivered to Aberdeen....CyaD
