SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 May 19, 2002 You don't need a rig to skydive. You need a rig to skydive TWICE !! There's no tomorrow - you ain't gonna live it for me - The Offspring
gale 0 #3 May 19, 2002 I have been told that he had a rig on, it was just specially designed to make it look like he was just haning onto his container. He's wearing it under his clothes. Just a trick I'm afraid. Only impressive if you don't know the secret.GaleIsn't life the strangest thing you've ever seen?
dbattman 0 #4 May 20, 2002 I was told the same thing- one of those 'guy at my DZ talked to a guy at the DZ.....' so take it a face value:"He wears a harness under his clothes with a cable running up his sleeve that attaches to the legstraps." If you look close when he climbs into the rig the hand looks like it 'detaches' and he'd be unhooked climbing in and hanging from his feet. But hey- even if he does have a safety line so it doesn't get away from him, it still takes either a lot of guts or more insanity than your average jumper. Kirils 1 #5 May 20, 2002 Jumping without a chute is illegal, and will get you in a lot of trouble. (grin) Check out the new book about the great jumper, bird winged suit inventor, Bill Cole. Skydiving magazine recently (Dec 2001) had an article written by Rob Price about the amazing jump and talks about the book.Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...
