wmw999 2,439 #3 April 13, 2006 At least last season (and a number before that) he was a smoke jumper in Alaska; you can probably get hold of him that way. I actually read about him in a book about smoke jumping. Google him and you should get a contact name. Thank you for any answer Your best bets would be FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/mitch.decoteau or contacting him through Empuria Brava (parachute center) http://jurassicpark07.blogspot.nl/2007/11/mitch-decoteau.html i believe he may have been there in 2009 as well... Fastbreak 0 #7 February 13, 2013 Hi Colin, i suspected as much. Just so happened I was looking up Mitch myself, that's how I came by the answer and this *old* thread. I had the pleasure of meeting Mitch and got to talking with him, back in September of 1988 @ EmpuriaBrava (CPCB), but it would be a miracle if he remembers me :-) OTOH I guess *anyone* who met Mitch (and Maria) will remember him! Sorry for an old thread resurrection, but I was also looking for anyone who remembered Mitch. Would love to hook up with him again if he is in USA now. Just bot going to Europe any more. I did AFF with him and Roland (Hilfinger) back around that time. And who can forget Maria, LOL. Jeff Barbani, Mike "Michigan" Sandberg and all the other real skygods (no disrespect) from the states that were there at that time, was something else. "From Wings came flight", I still get goose bumps watching that CRW downplane. Every second down there was awesome, even the packing. Tom Piras was also there, right after the Wally II came out. (From the 100-way attempts): "If you're down there before the person you are docking on, you are not doing your job right. If you're down there AFTER the person you are docking on, you are not doing your job right. All we are asking for is perfection".. My life was arrested at this stage. Any later maturity is all osmotic immersion. If I could go back to that time and work for jumps and food up to now, I would. Where is Mitch now? I don't do the FB thing. Would LOVE to see him again. There is still lots of time to learn it..
 Fastbreak 0 #11 September 15, 2016 If you consider how many are asking and for how long it is a strong testament to how special a person Mitch is! I think your best bet is to contact CPCB: http://www.skydiveempuriabrava.com/en/ and ask them where Mitch might be. Maybe someone has an email address for him or something?! I'd hazard a guess he's no longer an active smoke jumper (age) so EmpuriaBrava phone or email are your best bets if you're not coming over any more. I think Mitch still pops in f.i. around Christmas / New Year over there, every now & then, but not sure. Success! (originally Norwegian) I can move around pretty well and would LOVE to meet great Mitch again. Any assistance would be appreciated. Regards, Arild There is still lots of time to learn it..
