jonstark 8 #14 June 5, 2006 Not a bad price for a couple of car covers... Those were actually fairly common colors back then. It may have been a stock color scheme. jon
JerryBaumchen 1,371 #15 June 5, 2006 If I recall correctly the 'stock' colors were that one, a solid black, a blue w/black trim & a red w/black trim. Am I right? Jerry

zoobrothertom 5 #19 June 5, 2006 Hey, you know swift was a pretty hot reserve in its day! I jumped with mine until 2000! Had 4 rides on it.____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
slug 1 #20 June 5, 2006 QuoteHey, you know swift was a pretty hot reserve in its day! I jumped with mine until 2000! Had 4 rides on it. We jumped with ours until we quit around 2003. A packer in Fl told us "dude you need a new reserve, that swift is only half a canopy". We used ours twice, once at terminal and it always worked (of course) and we had stand up landings each time. Why mess with success for the latest and greatest. R.I.P.

Jerry 3/8/76 is not long after I left Booth's operation to go to work for Buchmann. I built the first 100 or so Wonderhogs for Bill. I don't remember that we had a standard color pattern, just more of some colors than others (which effected delivery times). You could order pretty much whatever you liked back then. That date might be just after he moved to Deland from Miami where we started (In Pam Tayon's garage). It has capewells and a d-ring style reserve ripcord so that puts it right between the last of the capewell rigs and the first of the 3-ring systems as I recall. We used the orange PVC for reserve ripcord handles initially, first on the original plastic cables and later on standard steel ripcord cable with pins. I don't remember making any rigs with a D-Ring myself though we did make some with blast handles for the reserve. Bill should pick this baby up, real nostalgia here :) ----------------------- Roger "Ramjet" Clark FB# 271, SCR 3245, SCS 1519

"Phil the Pill" is he still alive? Last time I saw him he told me he had new gear and was going to make a thousand jumps in that year and I thought, with who?
