mjosparky 4 #1 July 9, 2006 I went to a party/barbeque today and it was like Skydiving History 101. The party was held at Paul Gorman’s house. Paul was one of the original Arvin Good Guys, was in the first 10 man formation and holds SCR-29. It was attended by the following: Brian Williams - Arvin Good Guys, first 8 man formation, first 10 way formation, SCR-8. Jim Dann – Arvin Good Guys, first 8 man, first 10 man, SCR-6. Bill Newell – Arvin Good Guy, first 8 man, first 10 man, SCR-3, originator of SCR-SCS Awards. Deke Dillon – Arvin Good Guys, SCR-17. Hank Asciutto – 10 way speed star National Champion, 10 way World Champion, one of the first to build “light weight” gear, invented the diaper for reserves, co-inventor of the curved pin for mains, SCR-614, SCS-117. John DeSantis, SCR-65, long time USPA Director. Jay Sweeney - SCR-105, SCS-105 The stories were great. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

cutaway1 3 #4 July 14, 2006 Sounds like a great party, I wish I could of been there. I haven't seen any of these terrific people for 35 years. Is anyone besides John still jumping? Aloha, Tim SCR-21SCR-

Aloha, Tim SCR-21 I think John is the only one jumping regularly. Paul Gorman, Deke Dillon and Lou Paproski started jumping again in the mid 90’s after a long lay off. They jumped up until the Drop Zone at Apple Valley closed. That’s about the time Deke screwed his ankle up pretty bad. You know that Lou died this past March. I think Brian Williams jumped at the Old Farts in late 2004 and I am not sure about Jim Dann. But Jim did say he has been sober for 7 years. Hank Asciutto quit last year due an old ankle injury the makes landings less then fun. As for the Sweeny brothers, I don’t think either one has jumped in years. Paul has a party every year, you should try and make it next year.My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
