A few things about skydiving that need clarification

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering about the origins of a few things associated with skydiving.

1. couches

2. pie

3. farting in the plane

4. certain numbers (420, or 240, etc.)

What is the skydiving significance of these things?

:)

"4:20", as I understand it, was started as a high school code word for "Hey, let's sneak out at the end of the school day and smoke a joint". And it has since spread around the country.

I saw a rig a few weeks ago with "420247" embroidered on it, so you can imagine what that means.

Couches as referring to what the couch freaks brought to Freakport on a one way trip Usually found waiting for trash pick-up , then burned at the last bon fire .
Pie was after a Detroit comic Soupy Sales since 1953 getting a pie in the face on almost every show.then national TV . Usually one for every 1000 jumps. I dread 12000 coming up shortly.
Farting was categorized one time at 3000 I'll toot for you .At 7500 I'll play you a tune Get me to 12500 I'll play you a symphony
Numbers can be canopy sizes, headings or amounts of turns lately, not sure out of context.
