Um, I don't watch Oprah but we do know who she is ... we are not completely isolated down here, you know?

377, i watched District 9 for the first time a couple of nights ago - i was expecting it to be 'okay' - i loved it. (the quirky faux-documentary style reminds me of an aussie movie i saw years ago and loved instantly too.) i wouldn't have thought it would necessarily appeal to non-south africans, but it's done very well in the US... would be v interested to see what you think of it.
(probably worth watching just to see what some real south african accents sound like ... though you may or may not notice when you watch that they embrace a wide range!)

ps if you do watch then you should probably know that the "prawns" reference comes from these delightful creatures, which i am happy to say have not made the migratory move to cape town that everything else from johannesburg seems to have:

I have eaten crickets and also grasshoppers. They taste pretty good roasted over a wood fire. I did this when I was a kid seeing if I could live off the land in the middle of the SF suburbs on one weekend. There was a weed called miners lettuce. It tasted good too. I ate Anise root, bamboo shoots, insects, made mint tea and was thinking about small mammals (gophers, mice) but felt too sorry for them to kill them.

I cheated though and secretly ate ice cream. I won a years supply of ice cream in a contest (designing and naming a sundae) and had to eat my share or my three brothers would scarf it up and leave me nothing.

I ate a rattlesnake I killed at summer camp in the Los Altos Hills. Now, knowing more, I wish I hadnt killed it, but back then they were the enemy and I was a camp hero. Rattlesnake tastes really good!

I ate salmon livers for years with scrambled eggs on my Dad's commercial fishing boat. It made a fine breakfast. Glad they didnt have toxic levels of Vit D. The salmon livers tasted great, like chicken liver but better. No fishy taste at all.

I am using my own post to enforce what I have been saying and to get the record STRAIGHT.

We can accept the explanation Georger made - but, I do not believe he is an accredited Forensic artist nor is he an artist of any kind trained to analyze these things. Yes, I did ask his opinion - because I wanted it. You did not understand and I did not make myself clear - the photos were posted to show how the cameras and short haircuts made all of the men look like their ears where big. I was unable to post the significant ones because I didn't know how to make them small enough. If I had - my point would have been obvious since it was in a post about the ears - I suppose I should spell it out. I have now.

Now I will address why I am looking at Ranger Grad photos. I am not looking for Duane - I DID NOT STATE WEBER GRADUATED FROM RANGER TRAINING - have only stated that he had ranger training.

Snow and 377 - go back and read a post that states I am looking for names - NOT ONE TIME did I state that DUANE would be one of the men in this 20 something group of photos.

This is a study being done for something We DO have - and to find the connection...regarding the rangers. You can be part of this or you can go about floundering around and never know the identity of Cooper. I have chose to find answers and was hoping you guys would want to be part of that...whether it was Weber or John Q Cooper.

If you do not believe Weber was Cooper - that is your choice - but, you should know by now that if Weber was NOT Cooper then he sure as hell knew who was.

The profile stated by CARR and others was NOT done by 1971 standards. The FBI agents and most of you forget the yr the crime happened in.

Think about the times around 1968 - the war in Vietnam, riots, drugs, draft dodging and unrest.

After the posts of the maps - Sluggo's and Jerry's I suggested one be done using the eyewitness account of which I have 3 to create another map and see how they stack with the possibilities. One report I heard over and over was that it came over West Camas. Another was up in the Search area West / South of the Cougar area but near Merwin (Jerry territory). I am not sure anyone had tried to map the route with the witness reports that came in for several days - telling the FBI they were looking in the wrong place. Somewhere there must be a collections of these reports within the media.

Looking at the U.S. economy, an obvious high growth area is private mercenary. It would seem Xe would be a prime takeover target for non-US investors. (Prince has sold a business once. Just a question of getting the right number for him).

Are there any restrictions on foreign ownership? Are there any laws that require contracts Xe gets, to be pursued only by US-owned companies? What exactly are the mercenary laws (I know the constitution says "no mercenaries"..but I'm talking about reality)

Have you seen the videos of polar bears carefully camoflaging their black noses with packed snow so they can sneak up on prey? Pretty clever, but when you are stalking Duane, the Arctic Smoke Jumper, you need to be.

Jerry has a lot of military jumps including HALO. He fought in Nam and he did a lot of survival training. He thinks Cooper landed in the Death Woods from which there was no escape and may have even gone in as a no pull. He spends a lot of time in those woods and I respect his opinion about them.

Amazon is a USAF vet who also worked as a survival trainer. She is a very accomplished skydiver. Amazon set a speed record that is about .5 MACH in freefall, which is frigging amazing. She sees the Death Woods as a road riddled well traveled wildland and nothing more. She has spent a lot of time in those woods and I respect her opinion of them.

We just have two well qualified people who disagree on the survival challenge posed by those woods. They should share a few beers and compare notes, not threaten to whup each other's butts. We need a little more Ghandi and a little less Rambo here.

Whasup Billy, didnt't know you lurked here in the asylum these days. Before you leave, do you think Cooper survived the jump and made it back to civilization or died that night in 1971? Do you think he had made prior jumps?

Oh trust me I know.....I knew more than a couple people who also went looking.. all over it... I got conned into a couple trips... walking all over creation... supposedly it was a REALLLY good place to hunt and they had checked it out all summer and knew right where the herds were. We drove all the way over from Fairchild AFB during the regular elk season to be part of that clusterfuck. That was before the money was found at Tena Bar.. in the late 70's. I also went with a group of friends from Kelso into that area south of Ariel back in 1973 supposedly for blackail deer... again it was really another Cooper hunt more than a deer hunt. The same guys were always trying to find bigfoot too.

I have it on authority from the Citizen's Sleuth Group that Robbie Burroughs, the woman in the FBI "found parachute" photos that were staged at the same Hollywood set that the NASA moon landings were staged....has been asked to leave the Bureau because of her refusal to go along with the coverup any longer.


Apparently, as a woman, she couldn't take the lies to Jo Weber any longer.

Ah. i don't watch but we also know who Larry the Cable Guy is. Our sat TV subs give us access to a whole bunch of US stuff.
I don't watch much TV other than VH1 and some NatGeo/Discovery stuff... wildlife, um of course Air Crash Investigation... some sport, mainly ODI cricket (the bat and ball stuff not parktown prawns) ... and I have a weakness for CSI and the BBC series Spooks.
