We had different requirements. We jumped Static Line from UH1N Hueys, Left door 3 person stick, Our training officer briefed us on equipment, procedures, exits and canopy control to demo for the students down on the M boats.

There was no STAND UP,....HOOK UP..Equipment check we did on each other... but we hooked up when we climbed into the door and sat there with our boots on the strut. The jumpmaster was the third jumper... they would point at jumper one then point out the door..... count....point at jumper 2...then point out the door.....count....... then leave yourself... pushing off and tucking ass to the water.... hands on the reserve.

Listen . this is the deal Lets say that what you say is true . Ok you don't have to prove it. Now lets work together on this case and search the ground . Not the roads I can show you areas that you have never seen I will show you mine shafts that no one has been into in 100 years I will show you Indian trails that have not been seen in 100 yrs. Now You can go to the washougal Library and research the yacolt burn . In that document you will find many indian trials and 1901 mine shafts .Many hiding places . still there are more that is not published . So its up to you Jerry

Quade: NO problem - it is going to get better. (the finding Cooper part). The drop I made in WA should stir things up a little...but, waiting for the reactions.

There will be several more drops in the next 2 months - but they will be different.

Can't believe Jerry would actually accuse Amazon of not being what she is. He obviously has no way to research her on his own or he would NEVER have 3rd degreed her in public. I am not a jumper and I am old, but I can read.

Looking forward to meeting a lot of you within the next 3 or 4 months.

It's certainly not the money . . . I mean . . . unless you actually DO find who DB Cooper was with 100% certainty. However, just like getting back to the Art Bell analogy, a couple of you might actually sell a little book or two and eek out a meager existence that way on the subject or help promote a career, but if you REALLY wanted the BIG money, you'd show the thing; the sasquatch, the proof aliens existed or who DB Cooper was. But you can't because the proof doesn't exist, so you go for the minor amounts of money and attention and bicker with each other has the "real" story when the fact is it doesn't look like any of you can actually prove anything.

Just as Jo can't prove Weber was Cooper, you can't prove he wasn't. Jo can't prove he was in the plane, but can any of you prove he wasn't? Can you, for instance, say for certain that Weber was locked up somewhere on that night? If you could, you'd be one step closer, but unfortunately, you can't. None of the professional investigators I've ever heard of, including the FBI, can prove Weber wasn't Cooper. Alternatively, find the rig. If he went in, it will be more than obvious that Weber wasn't Cooper. It won't prove who DB Cooper was, but it sure as hell would prove it wasn't Weber.

Until you can do that, she gets to tell her story because it's just as "valid" as any of the other crap here.

Please, somebody prove me wrong.

To be perfectly honest, I think you guys are afraid somebody will actually find DB Cooper. It means the cottage industry of DB Cooper storytelling and self promotion is over for everyone except the lucky winner.

That sounds really interesting Jerry. I wish Amazon would take the invitation to visit. I think after ten minutes and two bourbons you two would agree that each other had military jump experience. 

It's funny how you can miss things in the wilds. When my boy was 4 I read him a local newspaper story about robbers in San Francisco in the late 1800s who operated out of caves in an urban canyon. The caves still existed wrote the author and were formed by big boulders rather than being limestone caverns. 

My boy went nuts. "Daddy, we HAVE to find those robbers caves, there might be buried treasure." Fortunately the canyon area had been preserved as an urban wildland park. Weekend after weekend we scoured the area which was a beautiful canyon with a pristine creek running through it. There was thick brush and brambles off the trails.

We searched and searched over many Saturdays to no avail. One day, looking through binoculars up towards the far rim, which was lit up by the sun, I caught a glimpse of a black hollow area amidst the huge rocks. I'd looked there many times before and saw absolutely nothing. The hunt was on. 

We had to cut through brush and thorny berry vines and work our way up, but when we got there we had obviously found the robbers caves. A few beer cans showed that others had been here too, but my son didn't even notice them. 

We entered a large "room" through a small gap between huge boulders. Further in there was a smaller hole into another chamber which would have been a tight fit for me but not for my boy. When he wasn't looking I tossed some coins into the next chamber. I didn't give any hints as he was a savvy skeptical kid. 

He told me he wanted to go further in and I tried to discourage him. He persisted, entered the next chamber and screeched with delight as he dug up coins from the layer of fine dirt which lined the floor. "Buried treasure Daddy, REALLY" he shouted. He was ecstatic with excitement. He left no coins unfound. We left after an hour and worked our way back to the trail. 

Many hikers familar with the area don't believe our story, but it's true. Sometimes things are hidden in plain sight. 

Jo would like that.

Amazon and Jerry, go have a beer or bourbon together, settle your doubts about each others jump credentials and trade ideas about how we might solve this mystery. You both have a lot to offer.

Nahh, almost everyone here would be very pleased to see the case solved. I sure would. So would Sluggo, Georger and the vast majority of the other regulars. It's not like there is any shortage of unsolved mysteries. 

DB Cooper adds to the mystique of parachuting. That aura won't disappear if the case is solved. 

I DO think we'll be able to prove Duane Weber was not Dan Cooper. The trial isn't over yet.

Also I am sure the FBI has at least some crucial evidence they are withholding to be able to filter out pretenders. They might already have ways to rule out Duane, Barb and other wannabes. 


Meanwhile this forum is a source of comradarie and entertainment. No harm is done here besides a few ego bruises now and then.

so apparently the stuff about whatevr being 'revealed' soon just meant, look forward to more promises of stuff to come being made ...which will end up being the same old thing.

There are many suppositions but noproof so far; but there is one thing I am 100% convinced of by this stage, and that is that Jo Weber (or whatever her real name is because we know it is no longer Weber, she's admitted that) is delusional. 377, you've pointed out, others have seen, the conspiracy elements. And she already knows her "proof" isn't , trying to pre-empt that with saying people still won't believe...
Who in their right mind would believe that a country that has no problem exposing its own presidents' misdeeds would go to such lengths to protect a petty criminal in a crime that, at the end of the day, was almost victimless? (I say "almost" because we know Tina was severely affected thereafter.)
I agree with 377 that I think someone somewhere is taking advantage of Jo's delusions, most likely for monetary reward, and that is very sad.
