For those you care (and I’m sure there are some of you out there), I just found out that Larry Carr (Ckret) was promoted and is heading to the Washington, DC area (actually just a little south of there). He said; “I’m not taking the NORJAK case with me but I’ll still be involved with it if the need arises.”
The really important thing about Ckret making this move is that it will help him with a health issue he has been experiencing for the last eight-years. You see… Larry has something called CGD (Clinical Grits Deficiency).
While in Seattle, gulping down Starbuck’s and Seattle’s Best coffee, he was ignoring his body’s natural need for Grits in his diet. CGD causes your speech to become rapid and clipped, your natural pace to speed up, and it makes you rude and impatient with others.
So, now, after eight-years, he will be able to have grits with his breakfast every morning and hence restore his health. In little or no time, he will be talking slower, moving at a snail's-pace, and displaying the “patience of Job” when dealing with difficult personal interactions.
Heck, maybe after eight-years in the South (capital ‘S’, he (and every member of his family) will be able to explain on TV what the tornado sounded like.
I can just see and hear it now, Larry, standing in his pajama’s saying; “Id went whooo-ooo-ooo… jus’ lik one-o-them freight trains, I ne’er hear’d ana thang lik it since one o’ them B-1 Bum’ers landed at the ar fors base ov’r yonder!”

jerry, the answer is, "it depends"; it depends on a combination of what the current gold price is and the cost structure of the mine. in south africa for example, most of the mines are deep level and are very mature, so you have to go a long way down and the ore that is left is generally quite low grade - so you have to take out a lot of rock for a relatively small amount of gold. cost of labour, electricrty and water are all critical, and all these will differ by country and often even by mine. a mine where gold was nearer the surface and in richer seams would obviously need to mine lessore to break even.

I didn't see this map - Please explain what all the different Points mean - just for general information or reference the post I have missed that details the points. There are others like myself who have not followed the maps but interested in this U of yours and the system you used.
Please simplify some of it for those of us who are not accustome to reading this kind of map.

NWA prepared this map to assist the FBI searching
for Cooper. NWA and others thought Cooper bailed at Point A, and landed somewhere along line A-B. That was the basis for the search at Merwin Lake.

Is there some way to chart all of those points on a map that shows towns and roads? I am sure this has been done, but remember I am just a "dumb blonde".

Using a very very old black and white map I have I marked the furtherest points the FBI called the probable LZ for Cooper and this is what fell between those 2 lines.
1. Two Power lines going South in almost paralel lines and becoming closer to gether as they approach the Columbia.
2. Southwest of Bald Mountain a unidentified Landing Strip,
3. Another landing stip near Charter Oaks. Would these Landing Stips have lights?
4. At King Corner West of the DZ is a converging of pipelines...with a leg going to Whipple Creek.
5. The pipe line crosses the power line South East of Dollar Corner and far West of Battleground.
NOTE: It is at this point there are several convergences of pipelines and power lines (an excellent siting point if Cooper was able to see them and was familiar with the area.).
6. At this point the Eastern most power line and the Pipe line cross is between Dollar corner and Battleground.
7. Just below the converging of the Power line and Pipeline is the "Hat" thing (can never remember the technical word for it). This "hat" is West of Meadow Glade.
8. As the area approaches Brush Praire the Power line has to cross a rail road track which goes into the Western section of the Fourth Plaines crossing over Orchards into Vancouver.
9. Another marker is the Scholls airport with was supposedly right under the 727. Of course we all know there waa another landing strip East of this area and not part of the airport.
10. Both of these powerlines intersect between Orchards and the Hazel Dell area (out of the possible LZ).
The map is a 1979 1:100 000-scale metric topographic map compliled from USGS 1:24 000 and 1:62 5000 dated 1953- 1978. Planemetry revised from aerial photograpsh taken in 1975.
This is a U.S. Geologial Surve map for sale yrs ago in Denver, Co and Reston, Virginia.
I have never found out who sent me this map in 2001 after my trip to WA. The driver (an off duty law enforcement agent provided me with a map, but I don't think it was this one). I believe this one arrived by mail after I got home....when I voiced my frustration over Jerry telling me none of the stuff Duane showed me existed and this map also shows the LaCames / Washougal area.
Just a dumb Blonde with an old map and her memory of a trip made in 1979.......the map was NOT acquired until AFTER my trip in 2001.

Well, look closely at the picture of Tina Mucklow in the picture Blevins made available and my picture of the little girl whose photo was in that old book Duane coveted - yet, it DID NOT belong to any member of Duane's family because of the yr, it was published - they were already deceased...and his sister who was the only other candidate (NO resemblance what-so-ever). Well, look closely at the picture of Tina Mucklow in the picture Blevins made available and my picture of the little girl whose photo was in that old book Duane coveted - yet, it DID NOT belong to any member of Duane's family because of the yr, it was published - they were already deceased...and his sister who was the only other candidate (NO resemblance what-so-ever).

Georger it does not necessarily need to be FBI - after all the FBI is not and will not do anything with it. Remember I do not have a contact number for you and do not know who you really are.

I hated to milk cows - because they always kicked over the bucket. Loved squirting the milk at the barn yard cats and there was a small pan we filled for them to drink. Didn't want to feed them too much after all their job was to keep down the mouse and rat population.
My favorite 'Big Tom" died under the pear tree next to the smoke house - he had been rattlesnake bit - beautiful LARGE Orange Tabby...but he made it to his favorite place before he died. I have not been attached to a cat since. I was about 14 yrs old and it seemed like 'Big Tom" had been around since I could remember. I will always remember how swollen his paw was as he lie there dying and there was nothing I could do for him.
'Big Tom' was wild and would never let anyone come near him The closest I ever got to him was milking the cow and when he was dying...The pear tree was the closest he would ever came to the house...he always kept his distance. I expect he confronted the rattler under the smoke house or in the garden - God forbid it was in the OUT house only used by workhands and my father... occasionally by others unable to wait their turn for the bathroom. Yes, we kept old Sears Catalogues in there.

DID you ever think about WHY some did NOT pursue this with the FBI and why they chose to step away? I will give you PART of the answer - because they were not only chastized by the FBI - their information was fragmented as was the uncollective knowledge of the investigative agents - assigned to interview them about their subject or suspect.
[Blue]Information collected by a local site is then reported to an agent who is assigned the Cooper case. The case agents never had the time to try to put it all together and treated each one as a separate claim rather than Collectively.
What needs to be done now is bring ALL of these individuals together - for several days (with each agreeing to put aside their own personal agenda). They need to see and talk to each other face to face and provide pictures or any documentation they may have acquired.
What will happen when you get ALL of these individuals together with each agreeing to be open minded - will be absolution of the Cooper Case. The alternative is as you suggested Georger (we are all delusional).
The only reason I am able to put some things together is because I am about 15 yrs younger than others who may still be living who made claims with the FBI about Cooper. Combined - my age and personal interest in the Cooper case and the fact that now the internet is a prevalent means of communication and sharing of information - is the ONLY reason why I have made connections ignored by other for yrs. This does not make me or any of the others delusional. Each of us held a fragment - but when the fragments are collected and put together (a giant puzzle) it takes someone to put all of these pieces in place.
If the FBI did what I have done and brought together 4 sources who are still living - they will find a common thread among them and their story (not things known to the media). It is fortunate some of these individuals are under 80.....
