JamieCooper 0 #19726 December 12, 2010 would you know of a way to email or somehow contact this "Flo"? certainly not asking for a phone number or anything too personal but maybe an email address or website she may have for this purpose? essentially it seems to me that the best thing to do would be for the FBI to compare the DNA I've provided proof of, and if I can talk my neighbor into letting me rummage thru his attic for the briefcase my mother stashed there, assuming it wasn't relocated or destroyed at some point. I asked the previous owner if I could check it out, He wouldn't let me but told me he had searched the location quite well. it may be under insulation or behind a wall or floorboard, as it was hidden by the man who built the home at my mothers request. I'm going to look into shutting off private messages, I posted it because I feel it's an attempt to discredit me in some way. it smells of a set up especially when one takes into account the claims that we have been in contact in the past and that I'm somehow plagiarizing others. given the parameters of how one should go about proving these claims. I doubt this will ever be solved. perhaps my father was more clever than I gave him credit for. lol the banning thing is absolutely fine by me. so far I've seen very little redeeming qualities on this forum in regards to this case, with the exception of the few obvious realistically objective persons. in general it seems this case is dominated by goldbrickers unconcerned with reality. but thats the nature of the internet huh? it's like chat roulette, online we're all just a bunch of dicks... ;) on this issue of privacy, the only reason one would require privacy here is to perpetuate a delusion. being secretive fulfills a delusion that the person has information that is valuable to others when in reality most us don't even want to hear it. it's like pretending to have something great in the palm of your hand that you won't share but sit and look at it publicly constantly. obviously complete rubbish in other words. JamieCooper 0 #19727 December 12, 2010 this Duane character saying he could never go back? there are many reasons a person might say that, for example why would one want to move backwards in life rather than make progress? it is my opinion and that of most criminal psychologists that the the majority of criminals return to the scene of their crimes frequently. while employed at a local restaurant some years ago. it was robbed in the night. when I arrived I found broken glass and such. most thought we would never catch our crook, but just as I predicted, the perps were some of the first customers that day. all we had to do was watch for who wasn't a regular and who was looking around suspiciously. I live in a small town so it became obvious. sure enough they confessed after paying with marked bills. the reason they return is to make sure first of all they pulled it off, and to admire their handiwork. my father revisited the area frequently, but then again he was on the move the rest of his life after as well. always looking over his shoulder, never really settling in anywhere. not even at the farm he owned. for the most part that ended up being rented out. Be aware though, that reposting a person's private information; information that is not generally public knowledge, like their phone number or address, does open you up potentially to some problems. Things like that will be redacted. I would prefer not to have to do that in the first place, so, please refrain from doing so. If I have to warn anybody about that and they continue to post private information, action might be taken including denial of site privileges. Only one person will be able to tell me if I am correct and she lives in CA. She has been looking for her nephew for yrs. He sister gave birth a child in 1970 who was GIVEN to friends of Duane's and his wife. Duane and his wife of the day were involved in some kinky stuff. A 15 yr old child became pregnant and the child was GIVEN away to some friends. This was in unspeakably bad taste. Even if the story was true, and even in the one in ten zillion chance it would be Jamie, would this really be right way to tell someone? I'm not familiar with it. also of interest is the suggestion b4 I posted that My father served in the military Asia during the 60's. he did, but why is that of interest in regards to the Db Cooper case? He was a air traffic controller as I mentioned, and that I only know from my mother, and from finding a large black and white photo of him in uniform when I was a child. a photo which strangely enough even to me, I don't currently know the location of? SKYWHUFFO 1 #19732 December 12, 2010 Jamie, First off don't get discouraged with this forum. You have to understand this place. The real talent around here has left the building. You will see the names Sowman, and Georger, they got banned because of frustrations with people so hell bent their opinion was the only, right they won't listen to anyone elses thoughts. Sluggo and Safcrackingplf are great wealths of information check out Sluggo's real cooper site you can see a lot of information there. Both of these guys rarely post now because of what you are going thru now. These four have made probably 75% of the real information on this thread. 377, Amazon and Orange make up the logical thinking. They point out the BS and why, as well as providing common sense. Then you have the resident mouths, Blevins, Skyjack71, these two are sure they know who Cooper was. No matter if you post a picture of your father on the plane with Tina and Flo, they will fight it ademently you are wrong unless you are saying Cooper was Duane Weber or Kenneth Christianson. Read back thru the pages here it will become apparent quick. You will see the names Ckret or Larry Carr. He was the FBI agent in charge of the Cooper case who used to post her till outside sources brought it to the attention of his superiors. Jerry Thomas is a person who had dedicated his life to walking the woods under the flightpath to find Cooper, and is Skyjack71's arch nemesis. There are a few others that will add color comentary now and then as well. Then you have the head GURU, Quade. Don't mess with Quade, he is incharge of monitoring this circus to make sure it doesn't get out of hand too bad. He let's people go till it gets really bad then you go to the penelity box to think what you did and feel much shame! Anymore I mostly lurk because it is a lot of bickeringand BS. It's like watching the Jerry Springer Show that some people are trying to turn this into. I suggest you start back thru both this thread and the old thread. There is a ton of bickering and bullshit, but there is some good info mixed in. I also suggest you read Sluggo's site and checkout Safecrackingplf's You Tube contributions. GoodLuck! Welcome to a corner of the Internet where some of the biggest egos on the planet congregate. I don't mean this thread, I mean the entire DZ.com website. Successfully jumping out of an airplane--even once--seems to rewire one's brain for egotistic and obnoxious behavior. You have that to endure during your visits here. Additionally, lots of people here don't take well to non-jumpers posting. The owner allows it and Quade, our under-appreciated moderator, does his best to keep things civil. In a sense, your presence here is much like what would happen if you unexpectedly walked into a biker bar frequented by Hell's Angels while you were dressed in a pink tutu. If you haven't read this thread and the original, you really should. Unless you have much better 'proof' of your father's identity as DB than what you've presented so far your claims will not only be falling on deaf ears but your writings will create considerable animosity. Many of us have been following the DB Cooper caper since the very day it happened. If you haven't read my personal essay on my involvement click the below link. Many people who I taught to jump think that their instructor was DB Cooper. It's your job to provide the proof. So far, it seems that your claims are based upon anecdotal evidence. We'd all like something more than family stories. It is your job to prove the positive with evidence; it is not our job to prove your statements as false. Simply put, to quote Carl Sagan: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. JamieCooper 0 #19734 December 12, 2010 thanks for the summery! it is quite alot to read thru and, I kinda have a low attention span to begin with. I'm still interested in what is thought happened with My father in Asia, and this "grudge theory, but as for solving the DB Cooper case, while I feel ,at the very least my account of my childhood and the events I witnessed should be considered as valid as anyone elses claims, I've come to the conclusion that if everyone is presumed to be lying, there is no way to solve the case! unless the DNA is compared all other efforts are pointless and a waste of time. heres why, lets say I was able to get into the attic and recover the briefcase with the cassette recordings of the conversations intact, lets even assume there was a $20 bill from the heist still in the briefcase along with some of my fathers "chicken scratch" (as my mother called them) financial records. the large Black and White photo might have been placed in it too? lets say it was all there and in good enough condition. the first thing I'm sure would come up and I suppose justifiably so, would be the possibility that I fabricated the evidence. which wouldn't even be entirely wrong, I am one of the voices on the tapes, I was there when it was stashed. none of this proves that the subject matter in the conversations were valid either. My father could have been lying, my mother as well, everyone could be lying. who's to say my mother was right about the briefcase? there may be a police report confirming that she was accused of stealing it from my father but it wasn't recovered so? can't even prove it was stolen to begin with. she was hired to go thru his financial records and make them presentable, therefore she could have fabricated them as well. my sister and a few others most likely would confirm the existence of the briefcase. but even then, remember, everyone is presumed to be lying so it doesn't matter. so, realistically the DNA is all that matters, and it seems the FBI isn't interested in comparing, and even if they did, it's widely regarded as "contaminated" and worthless so essentially this case is at a insurmountable brick wall. as such , within the current perimeters allotted, it is unsolvable! as perpexingly self defeating as this thread seems to me, I have gained some information, a couple new friends, and I no longer have some of the fears I have shouldered the majority of my life from this case. both my mother and I worried for many years that We could be prosecuted for with-holing evidence, or for being accessories after the fact. this was a very real concern for my us. after reading and posting here, it's now obvious to me that father didn't need to be as paranoid as he was either. He himself could come here if he was still alive and noone would even believe him. lol I am changing my profile pic and leaving a link here to a photo of my DNA markers, for the purpose of comparing with the sample the FBI claims to have from DB Cooper I have edited the photo to include my email address and a note saying "DNA from son of DB Cooper?" so I may be contacted if such a comparison should ever occur. thank you. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #19736 December 12, 2010 The "Asia Connection" is a series of test jumps done out of the back of a 727. Snowmman found the video and posted it a while back. During the highjack, there was a good bit of discussion among the airline people and the FBI about whether or not it was possible to actually jump from a 727 in flight. The test jumps weren't widely known at the time of the highjacking, and the presumption has been put forward that Cooper was in SE Asia and knew about the tests. Cooper had also asked for the airstairs to be lowered before takeoff and was told it wasn't possible. This was later disproved when one of the last flights out of Da Nang did just that (that video is on here too). Again, his knowledge of the 727 was more extensive than the airlines and the FBI. Or he was just guessing and got this stuff right purely by chance. If you were able to find a $20 that came from the highjack money, you would have solid proof that you had a connection. As long as it wasn't counterfeit, that's evidence that couldn't be fabricated."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 377 22 #19738 December 12, 2010 QuoteThe "Asia Connection" is a series of test jumps done out of the back of a 727. Snowmman found the video and posted it a while back. I found the initial info about the Air America 727 jumps over Thailand. I corresponded with a Univ of Texas Professor who is an expert in SE Asia covert air ops history and he had a wealth of relevant info. Actually it was Jo who insisted that 727s were used to drop stuff during the Viet Nam war. I thought she was wrong, but I started looking. The forum is very incestuous and inward focused. When we make outside connections (like the UT professor) we open up new info channels. I am nearly certain that Cooper KNEW a 727 could be jumped. That's just logic. If it wasn't jumpable he was CERTAIN to get captured. Not even the cockpit crew knew that the 727 could be jumped. They had to have the airline contact Boeing to find out. As far as I can tell there are two obvious sources for that critical info about 727s being jumpable: the Air America jumps and the Boeing flight test info which was kept pretty tightly within Boeing, it isn't even in the tech manuals issued to 727 customers. Could a flight attendant have figured out a 727 was jumpable? Doubtful. Not even the NWA 727 flight engineer had that info. Someone serving in SE Asia during the war might have caught news of the Air America 727 jumps. Air traffic controllers get involved in jump testing if it takes place in or near controlled airspace. It takes up a lot of vertical airspace which must remain clear. Orange found fascinating (to me at least) info connecting USFS smoke jumpers with CIA covert air ops in SE Asia. Snowmman found TONS of stuff that was of interest including SOG HALO night jumps over enemy jungle territory in Nam, an SOG deserter named Ted Braden (who some SOG guys think was Cooper) and about a zillion other things. He got banned permanently for being rude. I am going to appeal for clemency in 2011. I tried to get him a Nobel Peace Prize to put Quade in the role of China, but the committee said that Snow was an arms supplier to both sides in many bloody conflicts and couldn't be seriously considered. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #19740 December 12, 2010 My apologies. Snowmman found most of the other stuff (especially from SE Asia), and I took the guess that it was him. I don't think Snowmman got perma-banned for being rude. I think it was because he kept getting around the ban by using new names, then making it very clear that it was him doing so. Being on the internet makes those who do NOT hide their idenitiy behind a thread avatar become open targets. I found this out the hard way, but have guarded certain aspects of my life. Divulging very private information intended to assist another is not only inapproriate, but very RUDE. Jamie came here supposedly for help and to tell his story, but he has taken a NO HOLDS BAR attitude that has not been acceptable in this thread in the past. We are NOT here to discuss my need for privacy - but, others use their avatar name. No one knows who Orange, 377, Smoking99, Safecrack and most others are, In this thread the only known individuals are Myself and Sluggo and Jerry (past poster). He needs to respect the privacy of those of us who know this crime better than most - and who stand to be harmed not only physically, but finanacially - etc. lawsuits by others. Doesn't he know that is why names and addresses and specific information that would identify certain individuals is redacted by the freedom of information act? If this is the tone this thread is going to take - I am sure many of us will be departing (good thing I have a date stamped on the bottom of my foot). It would have been good to stay for a while longer because of some things to come, but I don't need this kind of stuff. This young man wants the phone number for Florence or contact information - perhaps the rest of you should tell him there are only 2 or 3 of us privey to that kind of information - and NOT for one moment would any of us provide this information to him. Doesn't he know or is he unaware I and Sluggo and others have been in personal contact with all most every major individual or witness - some still alive and others who are not. Why would we provide information to someone with the attitude that their privacy is of no concern? Information Jamie is wanting is NOT public information. skyjack71 0 #19747 December 13, 2010 In 1979 or early 1980 - Duane had the company pull the Rock Springs and Green River accounts since we had some write-in's in and around the area. Upon arriving in the area and checking into a local motel...I started to call the accounts to arrange appointments. Duane had a write-in lead in Lander and he mentioned knowing a man there. So while I was trying to set our week set-up on the phone - he goes to Lander. Guess who lived in Lander during this time period? If any of you have done your research on anything I have told you - you will know a man Duane claimed to have known (a smokejumper)- was living in Lander in at this time. Paperlegs! One might ask How I remember these things. Until I found out recently a man Duane claimed to know lived in Lander during that time - it was just part of the past with no reason to make any connections. Rock Springs resulted in NO SALES - and we had to push some of the meager appts up because a front was coming in. Scary! I was so scared and Duane didn't flnch. It was like he knew exactly what to do and he didn't seem the least bit rattled. The snow was bad and we spent the night in Cheyenne. This is why I remembered the 2 days in Rock Springs and his trip to Lander. Duane bought the truck driver a couple of drink that night..lot of truckers and others like ourselves where stranded in Cheyenne. JamieCooper 0 #19748 December 13, 2010 one could make the argument that you don't care about separating fact from fiction also. for example. posting a outdated copyright notice by every post. why? copyrights are used to protect financial stakes in created written works often fictional. Since this seems to be a quoted statement - it is probably a FACT or was Carr parroting the press. What I do know is that I was told "Cooper was a very Sad Man" and then this turned up in the FOIA on Cooper. Yet, I was told this by a witness yrs before it was ever made available on the FBI site. I admit it when I screw up - and I screwed up. Thank You. Geeze, you are almost as good as Snowmman! Arrogance and demeaning or attacking other posters is unnessary - seems like a certain poster has a lot of anger. That is really scary...the post he made regarding Reserved Rights went way to far in my opinion and takes away from the quality of posts the thread has produced in the past. Merrily stating my opinion..in a nice way. I seriously doubt those who read this thead will tolerate those kind of posts for very long. It will be ashame to see all of the hard work earnest researcher have put into this thread - just destroyed. The thread has taken the tone of teenagers bantering among themselves with absolutely no connection or direction causing posters with actual contribution to have to sort thru the anger, therefore I expect to see this thread closed any day now. The anger and demeaning is unexcusable. It destroys the real work done by everyone in this thread for the past few yrs. I am not alone in this, but enough is enough. This is NO longer History and Trivia quality and therefore the DZ needs to take the necessary measures. I for one will truely feel lost without this outlet - but, I think the expiration date of the thread will come before my own expiration date. The voice of truth will be silenced soon enough, but for others sooner is better than later. Perhaps by PLAN - the FBI said to be patient for just a few more wks...maybe he knew something I didn't know. When you cannot silence the truth - then declare war...and make a mockery out of the truth. This has come to pass, but the FBI didn't win. When you fight dirty you loose at least in the stories I grew-up with...I have outlived my era. (A time when complete sentences and being polite meant something). To all of those who have posted and who have walked this long road with me - I thank you. Love To All, (yea, even Georger and Orange). JamieCooper 0 #19750 December 13, 2010 could the "grudge" had been against the bank? did "DB Cooper" specify where the funds to cover the ransom were to be paid from? was this bank a hub of a smaller one that might have screwed him on a loan or construction project? I ask because he complained of being ripped off like that a few times. frequently complained actually, (perhaps bank records exist in the name Donald John Cooper?) my father was laid off over the winter in 1971 (collecting unemployment benefits, I think?) which is why he was able to travel to Seattle for a job that was offered by Boeing, which instead turned out to be laying people off upon his arrival. (possibly a job application might be on record?) perhaps the Grudge was against Boeing?, in conversations with my father he expressed in both word and breathing gesture and tone, a disgust against Boeing, which gave me the impression he felt slighted and as if they owed him. he pretty much, in so many words, but not directly said that's why he hijacked the plane. at one point saying he "didn't want to come home for Christmas empty handed", "that he was owed at least for traveling there over the holiday", 'you can't always play by the rules, when they keep changing them on you" "sometimes you just gotta take a chance, and sure later you find out it was wrong, but you don't know ahead of time", "I stole the money, but they stole it from me first", "they owed me and everyone else that, at least that", "do you understand, do you really, I'm not a bad guy, I just did what anyone else would in the situation" , "I had to", "I had no other way of getting the money I needed", "and they owed oit to us in the first place"... he got stuck in kind of a redundant loop with the "do you understand" " do you really", " and I"m sorry" parts. of note, my mother admitted that she did tell him not to come back if he was unsuccessful at getting the Boeing job. it was essentially his marriage in the balance, which in fact did dissolve over the xmas holiday in a standoff with police. (possible police records of this? so in summery, my father who was unemployed suddenly came into enough money to go on a drinking binge, threw out my siblings that were not his children and my mother, in December of 1971 after traveling to Seattle and back over thanksgiving. this almost sounds like the kind of change some lotto winners show.
