I neglected book work and nearly put AB of Seattle into bankruptcy. And I did all this by giving up weekends and vacations for more than a year and working a full time job on our other business. Since that one actually paid the bills, I could not neglect it. What fun. If the FBI is checking out KC, then I just hope they figure it out one way or another. Either he was, or he wasn't. You were really eager to have that information, but you never posted anything about what you found - if there was anything to find. Grade 1, Commercially Pure Titanium Composition Titanium 99.67 Carbon 0.08 Iron 0.03 Nitrogen 0.03 Oxygen 0.18 Hydrogen 0.015 Percentage by weight Handbook of Cooperhelia says: Grade 1 Commercially Pure Titanium Titanium is classified in two categories: 1- commercially pure titanium (Ti) which is used in the chemical process industries and The purer forms of Ti are resricted to a very small market. 2- titanium alloys having additives such as aluminum (Al) and vanadium (V) and which are used for jet aircraft engines, airframes and other components. Unalloyed and alloyed titanium have been used in medical engineering for many years and include the following: joint replacement parts for hip, knee, shoulder, spine, elbow and wrist, bone fixation materials such as nails, screws, nuts and plates, dental implants and parts for orthodontic surgery and dental prosthetics, heart pacemaker housings and artificial heart valves, surgical instruments for heart and eye surgery, components in high-speed blood centrifuges. Titanium has long been considered an exotic metal. In recent years there has been a progressive change in its image from an expensive curiosity to material much more familiar to consumers as it finds more commercial applications such as eyeglass frames, sports equipment, accessories and art, in its alloyed forms. Germans sands 1972 toitanium prpduction exported to America - see DuPont - see Matha DuPont and Kathryn Jeanne P at Bowels Antiques (north of Boston) - Titanium patents filed 1971-72 in prosthetics - contracts cancelled by DuPont 1971-72 to refiners - das ist alles. Something did catch my eye in your post - dental prosthetics. Duane had a bridge, but don't know what yr. 1971 or 1972. The ex Duane lived with as John Collins claimed Duane was having an affair with the woman who would become his next wife only 1 month after his divorce from her. This woman's family member was a dentist and the one who made Duane's bridge. I still have the metal frame (it was sent to the FBI and they returned it). It was in a pill bottle and cleaned - Duane kept it even though he had a new appliance. I NEVER saw Duane without this - NOT ever. This dentist in Atlanta did have his own lab. I remember little of what Duane told me about this woman he married or her family -I know the woman refused to discuss Duane - other than to tell me how BAD he was...she did NOT want anyone to connect her to Duane. She told me NOT to reveal her name or location. Sluggo will tell you - I never did. The first time I contacted her - I swore I would never contact her again, but I did one more time. She was more receptive to me that time and some of the bitterness had left her. We were both victims and I apologized for intruding into her life explaining I just really needed to know who this man was that charmed so many women in his past and yet was such a terrible person. The conversation was short and unproductive - other than my statement above. When AZArizon stated Cooper had to have some big ones - he must have know Duane Weber personally. That comment on the article got my attention. As for Chris he is NOT hinting at new information as WE all know the metal fragments are OLD information now. Well, maybe not for the general population. Frankly I think the Cooper CASE is OVER. It is just a matter of formalities - even if I produced the airline ticket and the bank bag or a $20 bill - the FBI would still deny they made any mistakes in this case. Jo, You produce a new Cooper twenty and I guarantee the FBI will be at your doorstep and 377 will be researching crow recipes. You think the Cooper case is OVER? Better get your doc to review your med dosages. You have not produced a single iota of hard evidence proving that Duane Weber participated in Norjack in any manner whatsoever. The hard evidence you claim to have possessed (parachute hardware, bank bag, parking stub, airline ticket etc) is all in POOF land. It doesn't count. To this day you have not been able to put him under a chute. What ever happened to your last promised big revelation? You remember, the one that the FBI wouldn't be able to ignore. You said just a few more weeks. Care to give us a new ETA? I don't think titanium was used on dental bridges in 71. Even if it was, a dental patient wouldn't have machined curl residue on them. The metal structures of bridges are cast, not lathed, drilled or milled. Titanium is used for implant anchors in modern dentistry. Unlike Jerry, I do believe that Duane told you he was Dan Cooper, but like so many things Duane told people, it simply wasn't the truth. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. skyjack71 0 #27639 November 25, 2011 Okay - thanks. I will bite - what is the scoop on this man. How old was he and what happened to him and why does Sluggo list him as suspect? He seemed to be balding in that photo, but what happened to this man after 1970 and has he actually been investigated as a suspect. The photo - you posted (I could put a mustach on that man and take away more of his hair - and age him and it would be someone I knew by another name) - nice looking man. The photo obviously was taken from someone much shorter than the subject. What locations was this Gannett known to reside in and what was his life style...did he own property in the Olympia area? P.S. Totally off subject: I just cleaned up 3 persimmon woods - 1, 3 and 5. Custom made for Weber in 1979 and never used. He picked them up in either Vail or Aspen. Of course I did not go with him into the shop, I went else where (he told me he had to pick up something, but I couldn't understand what he needed custom woods for). The man who made them was an OLD friend. Duane only played golf about 3 times during our marriage. This was not during the winter as there was NO snow on the ground. My daughter was not with us on that trip. This is just another memory, but it made me think about something. I do NOT know if I can actually recall all of the times Duane went to see "someone he used to know" and sent me off shopping somewhere else in the area...perhaps it was just the times, but now in retrospect this seems ODD. Why didn't he want me to meet that old friend? There were lots of encounters like that. I did meet some of the men and one man did NOT want to talk infront of me. Took Duane off to a private place...this was the "package" he delivered in Atlanta to a man I have since been told had Mafia connections (no proof of that). Ed Horan did NOT want to be photographed and his history with Duane was in the N.W. and AZ. The guy in Denver - old friend of Duane's and they lived in Castleberry, Co at that time. Harry or Harrison - never could remember the name...was missing his right leg below the knee due to what he said was cancer. Claimed to have been a chauffer for Howard Hughes and talked about TX and AZ. I wonder if I looked thru the album if I might not remember some of these other encounters with "old friends". I know 2 of them were in N.Orleans...a man who had a shoe shine place in one of the hotels (remember those). The other was a man who played a trumpet in a place on the corner. Duane sent me elsewhere - so he could go see this man. 1st time he was not there and Duane went back before we left and again - left a "package"...this was 1980 or 1981. I realize I have told some of this before, but it seems like one memory is triggering another memory right now and I am just on a roll. I am shaking my head right now. Why am I stuck on this "used to know" and remembering all of this? Why did Duane have so many "friends" that I never met and the one's I met where suspicious? Remember the couple we went to dinner with the night the Cooper special was supposed to be on in the middle of the wk. I had never met these supposed friends. Supposedly they owned a dry cleaners or managed a dry cleaners in the area. I only knew what Duane told me (I never met them before or since and do not remember the names). Duane knew lots of people in CO - and maybe the reason he did NOT want me to meet most of these people was because they knew him as JOHN COLLINS! Wonder why it was so important he continue the John Collins thing even when he did NOT need to do so. There was the man at the Red Rooster or Hen (a restuarant and bar and hotel) on a corner in the mountains South of Denver. This is the place Duane had an encounter with the owner and his "bodyguard" type friend. There was shouting and the man told Duane to get out and never come back. I never knew what this was about. Duane placed me in front of him and told me to get in the car and not look back. I still want to know what this was all about. This manager/owner had told Duane the place had changed a lot since he was there. Was really friendly and showed us one of the room he had redone use reproductions and some of the old things to make it like it used to be. Got the impression a lot of famous people had stayed there...they mentioned the name of one - my mind won't remember that part. Yet, these 2 guys are shouting at each other shortly after this after seating me at the bar while they went to the corner to 'talk". The taller guy (good looking with medium light hair) acts like a body guard. The owner/manager is short and stout with dark hair and well dressed and with a very unusual ring on. There was the couple who played at a bar (think it was Longwood) forgot the name now. He played the steel guitar and I forgot what she played. THis was the couple who sent the gold painted Screw driver after they left to travel their life in a motor home or travel trailer. Still have that screw driver - from ANYWHERE ELSE USA. Rick and Elaine. How can one man know so many individuals from so many places and no one remembers him? Don't know why I think I have to tell all of this - no one cares. Don't know why these memories for flooding every circuit in my brain right now - just can't stop. But, I will - I suddenly feel exhausted.Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber
arfuller 0 #27640 November 25, 2011 I'm sure that the FBI isn't as smart as the experts here on the forum, but I think it should be considered that the FBI questioned Marla for over 5 hours including a polygraph that she passed. After all that they called her the most credible person they had interviewed in the case. Titanium (and aluminum?) were discovered on the tie about 40 years after the fact. Does that prove DB was from Quebec. How hard is it to read a French comic book, and why would an engineer from Quebec be interested in it? Does that explain why part of the money showed up near Vancouver (Washington)? Does it explain how DB was able to point out landmarks to the stewardess? Is it impossible that an American hijacker would say "negotiable American money," when he told the crew to fly to Mexico? The Money Connection

skyjack71 0 #27648 November 27, 2011 How many times have I made the same statement she made word for word. I know what I know. My story has not changed. How can she possibly compare herself as a child hearing a story to an adult who experienced 17 yrs with a man who said "I'm Dan Cooper" and the same woman who as a widow has continued to try to get the FBI to really investigate for over 15 yrs. If a FBI agent tells a widow her husband was never in a certain prison or in the army and the widow is holding documents to the contrary - there is a RAT in the Wood Pile. Marla's Uncle was way too young and the description I have heard does not match the description of Cooper. What the FBI needs to do - is locate all of the fingerprints on Duane L. Weber aka John C. Collins and find out if they match the prints they have on file. Otherwise I need an explanation of why they had John C. Collins in a prison and commuted him and then went looking for Duane l. Weber after he was released. The FBI has never EXPLAINED THIS.Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber
EVickiW 0 #27649 November 27, 2011 Blevin's questions Marla's claimsQuoteMarla has previously claimed her uncle kept the comic on his wall or door or something. He died in 1997, I believe. This is possible, but the comic wasn't generally known or associated with the Cooper case until around 2008. This would make him smarter than Snownman and the FBI. The first is hard, the second maybe not so much. (*laughs*) Did Marla's uncle speak or read French? I questioned the "memory" of the "Dan Cooper" comic from one of Marla's first national media interviews. 1. She states L.D. was obsessed with and had a Dan Cooper comic tacked up on his walls. 2. She implied she only saw her uncle at family gatherings and only one more time that same year at Christmas after the hijacking (which also makes me question the length/size of his sideburns less than one month later, but that is not important in this particular post). From a interview at ABC News with Marla: http://abcnews.go.com/US/db-cooper-exclusive-niece-provide-key-evidence/story?id=14219052#.TtI9JbLTqKsQuoteMarla Cooper says that as an 8-year-old she recalled her two uncles planning something suspicious at her grandmother's house in Sisters, Oregon -- not far from where D.B. Cooper jumped from a plane with $200,000 in cash one day later. "My two uncles, who I only saw at holiday time, were planning something very mischievous. I was watching them using some very expensive walkie-talkies that they had purchased," she said. "They left to supposedly go turkey hunting, and Thanksgiving morning I was waiting for them to return." AND in the same interview:Quote She also said that her uncle was obsessed with the Canadian comic book hero Dan Cooper, and even had one of the comic books thumb-tacked to the wall. To me this sounds like an inconstancy in her vivid memories. Either you knew your uncle well or you only spent time with your uncles at family gatherings.Melvin Luther Wilson - Missing Person since September 1971: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03QLnFvk8Fs
arfuller 0 #27650 November 27, 2011 Marla has stated that Dewey and LD had both gone through recent divorces and were living at her grandmother's in late 71. How long does it take for an 8 year old to get the impression that uncle was obsessed with a comic book? "The Columbia was dredged off Tena Bar in 1974. After Ingram found the money six years later, a geologist examined the site and said the bills were found on top of the dredge material, meaning they must have gotten there after 1974." According to Marla the uncles argued about the hijacking and LD stayed away after the holidays a year later. The brothers became very worried about being caught and believed the FBI was after them. That would explain why some of the money was buried later, near a spot where LD had lived. It was to try and clear the trail. Remember that the 727 placard was found in the area where the FBI thought Cooper jumped. The money was found years after the hijacking in an area where people fish. The conclusion is that it couldn't have got there naturally. My video. http://youtu.be/qagMRM5hF0IThe Money Connection
