Facts never stopped a Cooperlite (aka Tyrannosaur
Poop) from making a cone head (aka point). Geoff
Gray makes that point, in his official Cooperlite with
handles on it.

Example/fact: ShotterMG only has 46 posts but has
made some very valuable contributions to the
Dropzone thread titled: ASSHOLES.

To each his own Cooperlite. Vestile Virgins here
excluded, of course!

we could get out of this rut and start a new topic.....where is Marla and her two uncles born 30 days apart?

Joe Paterno did not die - yet.

"In this day and age, getting it first often conflicts with getting it right, but our intention was never to fall into that chasm. All I can do now is promise that in the future, we will exercise caution, restraint, and humility."

Another Cooperlite placed in its proper poop-box.

Meanwhile, the real Cooper case, diverted for
personal privelege & commercialism, waits . . .
as new theories surpassing Weber, Blevins, and
Marla, are being formulated, by new players.
Welcome!

You "guys" do not want to hear the long road to Tahoe so I am going to state what I am after. The things Duane talked about.I will bluntly state what has me frustrated with the FBI's research of Duane's history in the N.W. and probably no one to blame, but myself.

Duane mentioned airstrips and airports and several of them he indicated a personal connection. Some he just commented on the location and the fact there was an airport or strip there.

Is ANYONE interested in helping to figure out what Duane's connection to the airports and airstrips was and who the "Guys" where? There is also all of the cemetaries he pointed out.

The Dalles: From the Oregon side of the river and he noted across the river was an airport he used to fly in and out of. At that time I assumed "family".

The next airport was his talking about Yakima and their moving heavy equipment there and the airstrip and Indians.

Next was Washougal:
He actually noted 2 strips there, but I only found one. We were at the lake and Duane pointed toward the S.E. and said something about a tower and I thought I remembered his saying an airstrip or signal tower, but I found no history of tower or airstrip being there unless it was on the other side of the river - it was my impression it was on the WA side.

Then he points out a airstrip off of NE 267th commonly known as Everett Hwy. The airstrip (which I could not see) was and still is there. He told me he knew the man who owned it - present or past tense I do not remember. Evidently spent some time on that strip....was it always paved or just a dirt strip?

Who owned that airstrip and when was it first put there? What was it used for originally and now? What is the chain of owners and what services went in and out of that strip. Was it a private strip at one time?

The Washougal - Duane talked as though he had spent a lot of time in the area. He had some connections to a family by the name of Bafus - 2 boys about his age.

He claimed to have known the Caretaker of property I believe belonged to the Ledbetters, but could never find the names of the caretaker or foremen or anyone who could provide me names of workers for the property in the late 40's or during the time frames Duane could have been there. 1962 - 1964, but I suspect 1945 -1949.
I have snippets of these yrs, but nothing in detail or confirmed.

Go north up the road from the airstrip on 267th (also known as SR-500) on this old map. Right across the road from the strip is a Fire Station?

Then go East on 19th and then North on 272nd Ave and you find Cooper Rd and one of the Ponds he spoke about. Just before you get there is Brunner Hill and a signal tower with one of the Gates he spoke about (I don't know what these Gates are). I did NOT know how Close this Cooper road was to the airstrip until the other night when I lost my post. It was one of the things I got so excited about and then the post went Poof.

:)Green Mt off of Ingle was Due North West. The hill Duane took me up earlier (a steep narrow unpavied path with the "Ghost" trees) - the Mt. Jerry Thomas claimed did NOT exist.

Do you want me to continue to the next cemetary and tower or airstip? The next things will be around the Washougal river and inside of the loop.

If you screw with the pics like that you don't want the truth.
Now I have to post the pic you distorted.

Georger, You'd have a heart attack if I proved Duane had a backgound in Wa connected to jumpers - wouldn't ya? If you really want to solve this thing maybe you should actually read some of my post. Duane had a connection to the area - but what was it and were was it. Help me find this connection and then I can let go. You might even surprise yourself.

Jo, the word "awesome" is used in the Bible. Is there something we should know? ;)

Was it in the Old Testament?
I never heard the word until it became a popular phrase with the young folks. It is in my 1958 dictionary - so I stand corrected.

Interesting topic: Squeaky Fromme, another case almost 40 years old.

I thought this was interesting:

The DB Cooper case is 40 years old.

If a group of people in 1972 were discussing a big 40 year old case, that would be the Lindbergh kidnapping case in 1932 -- which was a big topic of discussion for a long time because a suspect was not apprehended until 2 1/2 years later.

And, if people in 1932 were discussing a big 40 year old case, that would be the Lizzie Borden hatchet murders in 1892. Also controversial because, like OJ Simpson, she was acquitted, although most believed she was guilty.

What case will people be discussing 40 years from now?

Anyway, I just wanted to point out that Squeaky’s gun was in fact loaded and McCoy paid $5 for the ride home. That’s all.

"Aug 14, 2009 – Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme, who was convicted in 1975 of pointing an empty gun at then-President Gerald Ford, was released from prison today ..." I knew "Alice" and I CAN prove it because she is still alive. BUT, you will NEVER believe THAT either!
She said she wouldn't bite, but Terry said she would! (:E3) Truth is stranger than fiction!

Just a matter of accuracy. And the kid lied about the $15. Ask Mac. Ask Jerry! Look at the balance of the money recovered. Figure it out. Our second Dick and Jane Award recipient!

Someone sent me a way to find all of the airports in WA state, but there are no details on these places. I also need ID and OR. Every strip there ever was from 1945 to this current date.

So much to do and so little time left!

I know you guys can help me locate the information I need, so please do - send them to my regular E-mail address:
homes4ubyjo@aol.com
This way MY search will not use Bandwidth or interfer with the conversations on the thread.

I have often stated the clues to Duane's past lies in Coure'd alene and right down the state line and over to The Dalles. If a historian can locate the early history on the airports then - perhaps maybe there is a picture of Duane Weber or Dusty Wenz or whatever other name he may have used.

There must be some archived information on the early airports.

Duane did not lie to me about the things he showed me and told me about on the 1979 Sentimental Journey...he had absolutely NO reason to do so, but I knew nothing of his prison record at that time.

Duane talked about flying in and out of Redmond, but I did NOT know the smokejumpers had a camp there. I was informed of this by someone in this thread.

Having long conversations with oldtimers, but maybe I am too late. 17 yrs ago if the FBI had explored this part of my story this might have been over for me....Damn myself for trusting everything I related to Himmelsbach was actually going to the FBI! How damn naive could I have been!:(

For your information:
Someone in this thread and others had told me that the menial jobs with smokejumper was done by the jumpers themselves - NOT TRUE!

They hired apple pickers and
anyone willing to work for basically nothing to help build the camp along with assistance from the Forestry. Carpenters, communications, menial workers, cooks and other jobs related to the training of jumpers.

Weber had a common link with the jumpers of 1944 - 1949 and then intermountian 1962 - 1964.
Both times have missing yrs for Weber and both places had certain jumpers known to be involved in co-vert action during both time spans...I believe Duane was recruited out of Canon as they did their first training in that area. Duane would meet his next 'wife' in the Boulder area and she did verify they knew Paperlegs, (she ID'ed him with a pic) but I have not found any Proof! She said Duane did NOT talk about what he did and would be gone several wks at a time. 1965 they went to KS where he worked for Pyramid Life...under the name John Collins.

Duane Weber's unique ability with communication equipment is coming to light. Remember my story about one of our many trips to WY.

All of sudden there was a strange communication on the CB and I asked what it was. Duane pointed over head to the sky. I do not remember if I saw the plane, but he explained something about the frequency he had on the CB. This was NOT something unusal to Weber. The ex-wife also commented about his passion for CB's (I do not know when CB's came into use in vehicles and cars).

Duane was farsighted - great asset to a spotter for planes and for fire towers. What would the guys who flew into Redmond have to do with Prineville. He commented about a restaurant they used to go to....this was the one time I asked what he did in the area. He said he couldn't talk about it. In retrospect after learning about his criminal record - I assumed he was in prison, BUT one does not fly prisoners in and out of an area to fight a fire.

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. I was foolish enough to make a post with sources thrice referenced where Squeaky pulled a gun containing four cartridges in the magazine.

BobKnoss then referenced one source that stated Squeaky pointed an ‘empty gun’ at the president:

http://www.mizozo.com/world/08/2009/14/squeaky-fromme-released-from-prison.html

Yep there it is for all to behold and read. Well crap, that’s the end of that I guess. Then I did something even stupiderest and kept reading the article quoted by BobKnoss.

Wouldn’t ya know it; this same wonderful source says the gun was loaded a little further down the page. I’d say check and mate and well played, well played indeed. How can anyone possibly contend with a source that says Squeaky’s gun was empty and loaded? You simply can’t. I can see why BobKnoss selected (no confirmation bias here) such an article which is a virtual allspice of investigation into the ‘truth’. There’s only one superior source to this article and that’s the rarely used, ‘I know tings’ statement thrown down by those from the cyber Star Chamber or simply huffing paint fumes.

I am once again, humbled by the inhabitants of the DB Cooper thread. To imagine that BobKnoss also knows Squeaky personally only adds to his impenetrable mystique and lore.

She even admitted she was shocked it didn't work. She is quoted in several different records of stating "It didn't go off! Why didn't it go off?"

She later learned that just buy sticking the magazine in the weapon it was not ready to fire, but it was loaded, not chambered, but loaded.

Go ahead and admit it, you have never heard of this hijacking or you thought I mistyped 305. OK, then don’t.

I just wanted to launch a pre-emptive, anti Knossian attack on history in the genuine world of coincidence where there are no dark forces at work. Or are they?

This takes place on a TWA Boeing 727 (naturally) where five Croatians or wannabes hijack the plane with a bomb. Actually it was a pressure cooker but how many have seen one of those things in the last 50 years? I thought so. Anyway, they hijack the plane with a minor kitchen appliance while demanding that the plight of Croatia be published in half a dozen newspapers. The press was agreeable to the demands and would publish just as soon as anyone could explain the rough location of this mythical country.

No dice, since the British would not allow them to land and they were out of fuel in France where they were arrested. One of the hijackers was a chick from Oregon (aren’t they all?) named Julienne Busic who was sentenced to chick’s prison in the imposingly named town of Pleasanton, California.

Everything was going just fine with Julienne until she crossed paths with another inmatetress who had her thunder stolen by the hijacking Croat. Yep, 355 was hijacked 5 days after a failed assassination attempt on President Ford and wouldn’t ya just know that Julienne and Squeaky would be Best Foes Forever (BFFs)?

The Squeakster took a carpenter’s hammer (commonly available in chick’s prisons) and attacked Miss Flight 355 with the claw end of it (cat fight!) which resulted in an extension of Fromme’s jail term and a transfer to Alderson Chick Prison in West Virginia. Squeaky was jailed with another failed Ford assassin named Sara Jane Moore and both of them managed to escape for several hours as opposed to fellow inmate Martha Stewart, who opted to make a crochet cozy for the escape hole. Equally disturbing is that fact that all three of these convicts now walk the streets of America, where children can buy ice cream and must live in a world where assassinations are possible and unmade beds are a crime. Oh well.

Strange but true history needing absolutely no additional CIA, Special Ops or conspiracy theories to make it any weirder or freakier. But someone will.

I don't know Farf.....now every time I see Martha Stewart (and that's not a good thing - it means there is a thunderstorm outside, the fridge is empty, the cupboard is bare, I've worked the Sunday Times crossword, have no books left unread, waiting on others to take their turn in Words with Friends, and there is absolutely nothing else on the tube), I'm gonna be picturing her in a good-girls-gone-bad video teaching Squeaky how to crochet a cozy.

I'm thinking You gotta get out more. :D:D

You could mention that in 1968 Duane expressed that he liked Brandy with a meal but did not really like whiskey. He was instructed to order bar whiskey but to spill most of it. Likewise, he should chain smoke 'coupon cigarettes' rather than the occasional light menthol 'lady cigarettes' that he preferred. Tell them he had a grudge. Tape his ears back. Use some green make-up. It would help make him look like a criminal type and/or disguise him. Do not swear, but be firm. DO NOT smile. Wait for the passengers to get off before passing the note to the stewardess.

But this never happened because it came from Knoss. BZZZZ! Wrong.
