Who knows? Maybe it's a cargo chute, after all. Too bad the FBI just didn't say 'It's a cargo chute'. Would have made things much easier for everyone investigating the case, instead of going with Cossey's 'It's silk' story. I have to admit that thing looks pretty large, and the lines thick. I wonder if it would even FIT into an NB-6 container.

Actually, as I am sure Jo will confirm, Duane Weber planted the Amboy chute as a deliberate ruse during the time he was leading Lewis and Clark down the Columbia River to the Pacific Ocean.

While Lewis and Clark were investigating Vancouver Lake, Duane and an Indian maiden disappeared for several days during which they visited the Amboy area and concealed the chute there with full knowledge that it would be discovered at a time that would help confuse the FBI during their search for Duane (aka Dan Cooper).

In appreciation for her cooperation, Duane gave the maiden several trinkets and sea shells to cover her next day's living expenses.

This scenario is so obvious that I am surprised Jo hasn't pointed it out before.

in terms of several people's prior calculations, done
here in the Stone Age. I smiled when I saw Shutters
figure, for that reason.

Sluggo, Snow, Guru, myself, and others tried their
hands at calculating drift scenarios, dead
drop-terminal velocity, etc etc. It was like being back
in physics 101 - fun! These skydivers do know their
stuff! This period people doing calculations and
discussion went on for some time, was very
productive, and '4 miles' was one person's prediction
... so its not out of reason based on parameters
previously introduced and discussed.

Guru, make any corrections to my memory of this you
need to -

BTW, you can also refer to the original NWA map
(what I call the probability drop map) to get their
original estimates on this matter. (Sluggo hates it
when I used that term for the NWA map -

It was several historians who brought Walling up ...
not the FBI. The original articles made that pretty clear (named the historians).

This was the area Sluggo and I discussed and when I went to WA it was right. Sluggo was going by my description and what I was saying about it. Until I was in WA in 2010 - I had only my memory in 1979 and the things Duane said. Because Sluggo talked about this area and when I went NORTH of the area I thought we wre in - is when the chimes started to rings. What I have been telling U guys since I came home from that 2010 trip.

TIME AND SPACE - MY MIND HAD NOT ALLOTED FOR THIS IN THE MEMORY BANKS. I remembered what Duane told me and the images in my mind from 1979.

From the 2010 trip until I can get back out there - Since I didn't know from which angle he entered if we were above the site - Sluggo is point at or above it. I was looking for the tower that was there in 1971 and not there in 1979. Duane was turning me around - probably on purpose. Sluggo's pen point is the LOW point and there is a tower not too far from there. Also above that is another area that would have had a similiar view with yet another tower - probably signal towers. The tower on the site was an observation tower and not be be confused with what I believe to be 2 signal towers.
