Of course Norjak existed before Norjak. We're not a bunch of creationists here. If it didn't exist before, how could it just appear?

snowmman,

Once again, I am compelled to call “bullshit” on you. You are completely out of touch with reality.

I live in Ashford, AL. It is 8 miles from Florida and 12 miles from Georgia (you can’t get much deeper in the “Deep South”).

The term “Creationist” was replaced. It was causing the courts to come down on hard working, God-fearing, common folks (as opposed to all those “pointy-headed intellectuals) with some kind of legal mumbo-jumbo about separation of church and state or some such.

The correct term now is “Intelligent Design (ID).” It works because it is a science instead of a religion.

I know it’s a science because my neighbor (a Pentecostal Preacher) told me so. He explained how fossils were put there by Satan to confuse non-believers about the “true” age of the earth (6,000 years). He said it had been proven by scientist. Why wouldn’t I believe him, after all, he’s a preacher? :)
Unfortunately, a large part of this story is true. I have others that would probably make you shake your head in disbelief. But, that isn’t Cooper (or Weber) related.

PS: How do you like my new avatar? This thread has really changed me.

EDIT NOTE: For those who are reading this post in the future, I substituted Jo’s avatar for my own for a short time. Now it should make more sense (as if anything here makes sense).

I thought I’d post this since he was a skydiver-base jumper. Maybe some of the folks out of Perris knew him, but hadn’t heard.

NEW YORK—Eric Gates, former television personality for Discovery’s "Mythbusters" died in an untimely accident while surveying a business site affiliated with one of his owned businesses last week.

Gates was the owner of Gateco Electric in Thousand Oaks, California and was checking on a client’s home the day of his fatal mishap. His death resulted from his falling through a skylight while walking on a customer’s roof. The Ventura County Star reported that his death was caused by severe trauma to his chest. He was 47.

“He survived cancer, he jumps with parachutes, he base jumps. He’s an active guy who was used to taking precautions. This was a freak accident that shouldn’t have happened,” said Steve DeGennaro, Xirrus Inc.’s co-founder and CFO, in an interview with The Ventura County Star.

It was reported that Gates fell close to 30 feet. The coworker with him on the roof was facing away from Gates and did not see what caused him to go through the skylight.

"Mythbusters" is currently broadcast to every corner of the world through syndication but it was originally made for the Discovery channel. It is a scientific show and takes popular myths or misconceptions and finds their ultimate truths using scientific experiments thus solving the popular myths. The show stars Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman with the majority of filming based in San Francisco.

Young's judgement... looks like it could have been written by one of Obama's speechwriters! (yes that's a compliment)

yeah, I thought it was pretty impressive. I don't know if it got much airplay when it happened in 2001.

Did you see what Reid said? I didn't excerpt that, but it makes Young's response even more stirring.

I'm assuming Young thought about what he would say before the sentencing. It would be incredible if he just whipped that off the top of his head in rejoinder to Reid.

But reading it made me feel good. Feel good about judges, the US Justice system etc.

I couldn't believe it when Cheney threw out his Obama attack (the 3 things I listed) and assumed any listener would agree that it was outrageous. I mean I could see Cheney has his own opinions, but the Reid speech provides a perfect counterpoint.

Now you could ask: yeah, but there was another bomber afterwards. Well that is true, and has nothing to do with justice. Beating Reid to death, instead, wouldn't have solved that either.

Sluggo attempted to chisel fossil records in stone with "EDIT NOTE: For those who are reading this post in the future, I substituted Jo’s avatar for my own for a short time."

Sluggo: the problem is, when you change avatars, it's not like a post..the avatar changes everywhere, all the way back to your first post.

So when you change again, your temporary "stamping" is lost.

You need to do something different. You could constantly attach the picture, but we probably would stop opening it.

I think you're stuck. There are many reasons Cooper won't be found. This is just another.

(edit) Poor man's IM
I just realized. The nice thing about IMs is that they typically aren't preserved like emails. (see Microsoft court cases). Now since the avatar history isn't preserved, I can put secret messages in the avatar, and they disappear when I want...hmm. Poof! as it were.

Attached is a picture of the TSA at work.

There's a delightful "Joe Bubba" look that the object of their investigation has, that I'm sure you'll appreciate. (edit) Although, I'm sure you'll point out, there are no Bubba's in CT.

He could be Satan, though. Either way, they're on the case.

(edit) one of Frishling's phone numbers in his iPhone was called "ICEMOM".
"The agents misunderstood the acronym and became suspicious that it was code for his anonymous source and asked if his source worked for ICE — the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement."

That has no connection to me.

Two guys dressed in leather chaps with cattle prods showed up at my door and said "You've been served" and handed me this.

I told them immediately "It was Duane Weber!"
Sorry I cracked so quickly.

Jo,
Go back to DEFCON 4. Nobody has stolen anything from anybody. Get a grip!

Snowmman,
The edit was just for the PS. I tried to re-edit so that was obvious, but I was past the edit time limit.

Satan made me do it!

No, Duane made me do it!

No, Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush made me do it!

No, 377 made me do it! Yeah… that’s it… 377 made me do it! Blame it on 377!

we were talking about polar bears.

Here's a nice site where they're tracking an Arctic wolf pack.
It's dark 24 hours, and they're wondering how they can hunt enough in the dark to stay alive.

They're tracking a couple of the wolves with gps collars
http://internationalwolfcenter.blogspot.com/

quite an amazing map of "Brutus" on the site.

Longest travel was 80 miles in 84 hours.
Cumulative distance from July 8 to November 30 is 1683 miles.

estimate 23-25 wolves in the pack (a couple of night photos at the site)

Don't shoot the wolves and eat their livers either!

"The collared wolf is wearing a GPS/ARGOS collar. Unlike the VHF radio collar, which is still widely used to locate animals and birds, the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) collar "listens" to the signal from a satellite and can calculate (by triangulating its own location) precisely where the animal is. The data are stored in the collar. Those data include location, time, date and movement. With a GPS/ARGOS collar, the data are sent to another set of satellites (ARGOS) which then sends the data to a computer. The system can be set up to record information at intervals predetermined by the researchers. The ARGOS satellite system sends the data via e-mail, usually a couple of times a week. "

Picture of an ARGOS collar here at the manufacturer's site:
http://www.lotek.com/argostrack.htm

This technology was not available in 1971, but Duane may have had access to secret satellite research he may have manufactured and launched himself.

:(:|I ain't settin myself up in his little game - claimed Weber was Cooper and that McCoy was alive and part of the Plan. You have no idea what delusional and way out is until you have heard his story - he even went to the FBI...and so a one legged man was born!

A lot of REAL stuff going on right now - no time for Comics and Dead men and such.

Out of a book - the book with the picture of the little girl who would have been around 9 when the book was published in 1960- 1961.

A piece of history?
A piece of heritage?
Or just an old book?

All avenues of research regarding the 1971 Highjacking of a N.W. airlines has been research except one.

:)A certain amount of the skyjackers where held within the US penal system - state, federal and local.

:)Is there anyway to find out the names of all of the skyjackers and where they were incarcerated? What if a aging excon was incarcerated in the same system as one of these skyjacker and/or was hospitalized with one of them.

We know that many of the leads regarding D.B. Cooper came from within the penal system and that some of these came out of Jefferson among other prisons. I do know that some where housed in the Mo. system, but do not know who or when. These hijackers were held in various prisons through-out the states...but where would this information be found?

An aging ex-con being fascinated by stories told in one of the prisons does not does meet any of the expectations or criterior the public nor the FBI seriously considered...but WHAT if? Maybe this is how Cooper slipped thru the cracks of the system?

Worth exploring and means only finding the files on those of the 83 during that time span that orginated in the U.S or the destination was the U.S. Surely the number is less than 1/2 of the 83 worldwide during that time span.

Food for thought - Cooper was a dirty rotten criminal - but he was someone who managed to acquire enough knowledge to beat the system - why not within the very system he beat?

You guys want to solve this case?
Well go where NO ONE has ever gone before. Should be interesting - we might crack this case in a way the FBI could not.

What if? Just What if?:D:D What a twist on Norjak! Some people listen ranter than banter - while in prison...safer to be invisible.

It would be a remarkable transformation indeed if a petty criminal who seemed to screw up most of his crimes resulting in arrest, conviction and incarceration managed to pull off the crime of the century and get away scott free. Why do you think that is even a possibility Jo? Nothing fits. Despite your claims you have presented ZERO evidence that shows Duane was a trained parachutist. ZERO. NADA. NOTHING.

Stop claiming it if you have no proof.

Snow was joking but I have always wondered if Cooper had an accomplice on the ground. Trying to hitch a ride out during a huge manhunt isn't rational. If the accomplice was on a high peak with a CB radio and Duane had a one watt CB walkie talkie ( about $59 in 1971) communications of twenty miles were easily possible. That covers over one thousand square miles. If Duane could see the peak he could communicate with someone sited there. All he'd need is a compass bearing to the peak and the accomplice could start driving towards him and eventually get close enough that they could talk and probably rendevous especially if the accomplice had maps and a signal strength meter on his CB. He could tell whether he was driving towards or away from Cooper over a period of time. If Cooper was sharp and had only a compass he could take bearings on several peaks and that would give his location to his accomplice.
