377 22 #22629 April 6, 2011 That thin nose, chin line and arched eyebrows certainly do not rule him out. Wish we could see the ears. I'd sure like to look that good in my 70s and still be jumping. Jumpers will note that Pete had no cutaway gear on his main risers. Chinese gear, probably military surplus. Scary. Tough old guy. He'd be the right guy to do a night jump into Tripoli and be directing airstrikes on Gadaffi's palace at the crack of dawn. He is VERY anti war, but he hates Gadaffi and thinks he is an insane war ciminal. Pete has lead such an interesting life , including some admirable and very risky civil rights work in the deep south in the 60s. I'd really love a chance to talk with him while he is still feisty and articulate. I've read his book twice now, once looking for Cooper clues and lately just immersing myself in its lessons. I've tried to buy my own copy and get it autographed by Pete, but it's no longer available online and he wont answer my emails. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Farflung 0 #22632 April 6, 2011 I remember how I was going to drink my way into aerospace just like the astronauts did with Tang. Sure it was odd tasting and was colored with some sort of mild carcinogen but that was OK because it was the same beverage the space dudes were drinking so…… bottoms up! Then comes that pesky information stream called college, work and life experiences that felt like putting on a wet bathing suit when I learned about the selection process of Tang. Apparently there aren’t any bathrooms in the space capsules or on the moon. Additionally, there was a dire need to conserve weight and space (weird considering where they were) by every means imaginable. Like recycling ‘water’ in some Rube Goldberg device that to this day, no one can explain. The output was water which the astronauts described as especially metallic and difficult to consume. The solution was some light powdered flavoring agent that would make the ‘space water’ less offensive in spite of the source hence the use of Tang. Well I still managed to drink my way into aerospace after putting away childish things like Tang and deciding it was better to be Beamed (Jim that is) up. I just wish the guy advertising the stuff had been a little more forthcoming in the selection of the product. Ultimately I was able to indulge my space fantasy, the inventors made some bucks and I have this new knowledge set to spend the balance of my life trying to erase. Who’s the victim here? Can they change shape like that with age? 377 The China jump - he was older and appears to have had a "lift". Yes, the eyebrows are raised when they do that depending on how much you have done. I had my lids done because they were droopy, but chose not to raise the eyebrows - as the surgeon wanted to do. I did this because of "field of vision". The younger picture does NOT show a strong chin like the older picture? The younger pictures seems to show a lighter colored eye - NOT dark piercing brown. That is my take on the photo comparisons. A very young Petersen is hard to compare with a 70 plus Peterson - and that was why I did NOT use the older pictures of Duane Weber. I could only have wished that Duane had looked that good when he was 70. Instead he was stooped and very fragil due to the kidney disease and completely white headed (but he still had a head full of hair). I will note in regards to the picture of Sheridan as a young man - the hair was definitely thinning. Surely Sheridan was bald by the time he was 70. Sheridan - let us know what you looked like in 1971! There was a site that showed a picture of Sheridan at the Jump place he was at in WA or OR. This was several yrs ago. Okey 377 - go looking for that one - it also did exist. There was a small plane in the picture. Remember Snow posted a number of photos at the time to run through facial comparison software and he included htis photo of Pete - thats how I remember this??? In any event, I see similar traits and proportions ... will come back later and we can discuss this. Here also is a blowup of Smokin's photo - cant see much. LWHS confirmed this week that a Sheridan Peterson taught English and Journalism there from 1962 until 1965. However, they only have a record of a P. Peterson in the KHS Class of 1943, when Petey would have been 18, as he says he was born May 2, 1925. Things are not adding up. Where is Wagner High School? I am guessing, that Kenny has no criminal record and had no discipline issues either in school as a child or later during his entire work life? Do you know? I am guessing Kenny was gay and that dynamic had a role in his life with other people? Do you know? I am guessing Kenny (and Lyle) were raised with traditional rural upper Midwestern values, especially of a practical material nature as regarded the ethics of work, saving, and financial responsibility?
