pchapman 279 #1 March 17, 2008 Time to give the usual suspects on this forum some competition. So, what's the canopy being propacked in this pic?

councilman24 37 #3 March 17, 2008 Without going and looking I don't think the slider is right for a Swift Plus. I know!!! It's PINKI'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
stratostar 5 #4 March 17, 2008 It's the only one I could think of off the top that has kevlar reinforcing tape on the nose like that, so I felt it was a good guess. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
councilman24 37 #5 March 17, 2008 Might still be right but I don't remember black on the slider. Certainly looks like a reserve being pink. Certainly looks well used but I know a few people who might put that much wear on a reserve.ahhh, it's also a nine cell. I'm old for my age. stratostar 5 #6 March 17, 2008 Well I never said I was right.....note the use of a question mark..??? If you can guess right, all hope is lost. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
bozo 0 #7 March 17, 2008 QuoteSwift Plus reserve being use as a main? I had a pink Swift plus that looked just like that. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
Danger 0 #8 March 17, 2008 Not a reserve based on the condition of the lines. I say it's a Super Evolution. Danger

pchapman 279 #10 March 17, 2008 QuoteI say it's a Super Evolution. We have a winner. Hmm, Danger, you probably saw that very canopy years ago in the time you were jumping at the same DZ as Steffani did. Still, it wasn't a giveaway. A whole 18 A-lines to contend with at the canopy. Not a canopy to give a newbie to propack! That kevlar (seen reinforcing the cell openings) was a hint towards ParaFlight. (For those unfamiliar with it, there are only A, B, and C lines, with lines cascading spanwise not chordwise, sometimes cascading twice, and three risers per side. At the time, in the early '90s, it seemed like Paraflight was thinking about paragliders when designing the Evolution. The Super Evolution 140 was weird but kind of fun to fly and one could do some tricks with it not possible on almost any other canopy.)
councilman24 37 #11 March 17, 2008 Whoops, thought they were A and B, not 9 + 9 A lines. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
Danger 0 #12 March 18, 2008 I remember Stef showing me how to pack that damn thing years ago. Weird canopy. I also have video of her chopping it.
