piper17 1 #30 January 29, 2009 Okay, I will take a stab at some names: Matt Clotter Rita Donaldson-Pernaw Steve Pernaw Lew Sanborn maybe Peter Nelson at front row right Best my old memory will permit for now."A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition"...Rudyard Kipling
howardwhite 6 #31 January 29, 2009 Cottler, not Clotter. Rick Pittaro, not Peter Nelson. Mary Thornton, David Adams, Bob McDonald, Jack Sirois. I saw David Adams this summer. The story of how I put him out on his first jump was chronicled last year in Parachutist. I'm afraid I have no recollection of your second S/L.I'll have to go back to the video for the others. And maybe I'll jump out of your Cessna Sunday... HW

docjohn 0 #33 September 17, 2013 I'm currently reading Melissa Nelson's book "Sugar Alpha" (manditory read for all skydivers, get it!), my question is: why wasn't it called Sierra Alpha? (N85SA) Ok, I'm a picky bastard but Sugar? Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
lekstrom10k 0 #34 September 17, 2013 Sugar was WWII phonetic alphabet. The modern one has Sierra for "S". Its funny because the plane on the cover is a C-47 not a DC-3.
3mpire 0 #35 September 17, 2013 Quote I heard is still sitting on a Ramp in Fremont OH. Has been there since the early 90's. The owner was killed this summer in a aircraft accident, so I guess its future is in question It looks like it is still there according to Google Maps satellite view: http://goo.gl/maps/kjWEi [inline sugar.png]
lekstrom10k 0 #36 September 17, 2013 I stand corrected the drip rail above the door made it look like a C-47. They had three doors in back the front door was square with a person rounded top door in it it hinged from the front . The rear cargo was square and hinged from the rear.. I could be jumped with both cargo doors off but most pilots taught it was to squirrely. Some DC-3s had a curved drip rail over the round top door. That's all there was for floater bars
