skypuppy 1 #1 July 14, 2009 Who and when did it represent. Bonus marks for who created it....If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. hangdiver 1 #3 July 15, 2009 It is apparently the unauthorized patch of the 503rd in WWII. My dad was in the 503rd and jumped in New guinea and the Philippines, but missed the Corregidor jump due to health problems. He lost a bunch of friends in that assault. I thought the symbol was THE ROCK, anyway I could have seen the "cat" but just don't remember. kwzskydive 0 #5 July 17, 2009 According to my great uncle It is the 503rd PIR. He made all of their jumps up to and including Corregidor where he broke his back and spent the rest of WWII in a hospital.
hangdiver 1 #6 July 18, 2009 You know, over a few days my memory is telling me I've seen this patch. I would have to dig through an old widows closet, my mothers, but could probably come up with an original.
