SEREJumper 1 #1 September 18, 2009 USPA's website has a gallery with all the covers since 1957. Pretty interesting and awesome. I'm sure there is some stories from you guys to go along with some of those photo's. http://www.uspa.org/Parachutist/ParachutistCoverGallery/tabid/501/Default.aspxWe're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar
pchapman 279 #2 September 18, 2009 Great but wish they had also scanned the descriptions of the photos that would be inside the cover...
NovaTTT 2 #3 September 18, 2009 Wow - looking through that sure brings back memories. The sport has come a long way, in terms of gear and techniques since my FJC in 1985, but one thing seems consistent: great, fun-loving people."Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." patmoore 14 #4 September 20, 2009 I still have a lot of them in a box in my garage. I subscribed to Parachutist, Sky Diver, Spotter, and DZ USA back then and have issues from 1965 to 1976. I sold a few of the older ones a while back but probably have fifty left.DZGone.com B-4600, C-3615, D-1814, Gold Wings #326, Diamond Wings #152. NickDG 23 #5 September 20, 2009 I remember when this particular cover came out in 1980. And I thought, gee, we should be able to do this very soon now. I really can't believe it hasn't been done yet! NickD

NickD Looks like that would be a ball.I don't care how many skydives you've got, until you stepped into complete darkness at 800' wearing 95 lbs of equipment and 42 lbs of parachute, son you are still a leg! skr 1 #8 September 22, 2009 I think Matt Farmer invented that. In 1975 I was driving over to the Gulch from Los Angeles every weekend, and he had constructed some skydiver stick-men out of pipe cleaners, and assembled them into a sphere. A year or two later at Pope Valley I watched a group trying to dirt dive it (pretty funny), and then go up and try to do it (not even close). Maybe it's possible now with all the freeflying skills that have developed. Skr
MrDree 0 #9 September 23, 2009 Is that Patrick Swayze on the November 1991 cover?"One day, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching." Dudeist Skydiver #
docjohn 0 #10 October 2, 2009 QuoteIs that Patrick Swayze on the November 1991 cover? That's Jake Lombard and Jeff Habberstad in the photo. One of them is Patrick Swayze's stunt double. However Swayze did make enough skydives himself to get his A license. From Point Break in case it isn't obvious. lasharp 4 #12 November 5, 2012 They're available on USPA's Facebook page. There are four or five albums of covers in the photos section.
