Cypress question

Recommended Posts

Cypres maintenance requirements are spelled out in the little manual that comes with every new Cypres.
New batteries every 2 years.
Every 4 years it has to go back to Airtec or SSK for calibration.
After 12 years it retires.
Any time it gets wet, gets slammed about or shows an error code, it has to go back to the factory (or SSK) for repairs.
SSK (in Ohio) is the North American repair depot for Cypres.

Every 2 yrs need to replace batteries, at 4 and 8 yrs has to be sent in
for service. 12yrs needs to be replaced.
when you turn it on it counts down, when it stops the first time at 6200,6300,6400
that is the volts in the battery ie 6.2 6.3 6.4 as long as this # is above 6.0 the cypres
should have enough juice to work.
Otherwise turn it on at the beginning of the day and check that it says 0 with a down
arrow and then skydive as if it isn't there.

Thanks for the info. I've been using one in the student gear prior to buying my own rig, but didn't know any of the details about maintenance. I know it will come with a manual, but like all new toys, it's hard to stay patient. Thanks again.
If you're not having fun, what's the point
