carpenter 0 #1 August 28, 2006 How many of you out there wear hook knives? I know that they dig into your chest and stuff, but if you don't have one, say when you accidentally have a drogue around the student senerio, It would be really nice to have one. Yeah! I have not been in that situation, but known a few that have. Don't think that I will jump tandem w/out one. Does any one agree?
Sockpuppet 0 #2 August 28, 2006 Can. Worms. Opened. There are a few threads that I know of about this. General concensus is "meh". ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. It might actually be unanimous but voice three only speaks Welsh.
inextremis 0 #3 August 29, 2006 Always. Not sure how I could justify not having one if I needed one, even though there are very few scenarios that would present both the time and the ability to rectify the malfunction thorough inflight rigging. A single line snagged in a quick release or hitched around a main flap might make a hook knife mighty valuable.

kissrg 0 #7 August 29, 2006 I have a Jack The Ripper knife as well but some others prefer metal knifes for tandem. Nowdays a carbon fiber version appeared in the market. What do you think? Any experience? Robert
rhys 0 #8 August 31, 2006 I guess the ripper can flex, but those things slice trough webbing like a hotknife trough butter! i prefer the rippers cutting action to say the matal one that you get from aerodyne? and you can change the blades on the ripper!"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
