SkydiveMonkey 0 #1 November 12, 2001 How much difference does using booties make? I've done a couple of WARP jumps without booties and can fly ok without them, but I would like to hear everyone's opinions on them so I know what to expect. Zennie 0 #4 November 12, 2001 You can miss out on a record jump if you bootie comes off mid-jump. Seriously though, they make a huge difference. A lot of folks liken it to "power steering" and that's not too far off.I did an RW jump with just my freefly clothes (not a suit, just bagy clothes) on last weekend because I wanted to see how I'd do. I made it in OK, but everything felt "mushy" to me.Then I put my RW suit on for the remaining jumps. It reconfirmed what a difference the booties make. I felt much more in control & able to make more minute adjustments than without them.If you do get them, be aware that you get *serious* forward drive with them. So you're likely to blow past the formation until you get the feel for them.Good luck!"Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper." E150 0 #5 November 13, 2001 Put it this way. They keep your ankles warm in the plane! No seriously, I was crap at tracking until I got booties. They really helped.
RemiAndKaren 0 #6 November 13, 2001 Get them. They will make turning and forward movement so much more responsive. And as e150 said, they turn an average track into a good track (and a good track into a great one)... plus, they make turning to the dark side that much more difficult... lolRemiMuff
