phatcat 0 #1 October 12, 2001 I have a question about Skydive Arizona’s ASP package. According to their web site, it’s $1685 for 22 jumps, including 9 solo and 3 Skydive U jumps. Has anybody here gone through it, or at least know of it? I’ve been looking at a lot of DZ’s and this seems to be the most “bang for my buck”. My numerous tries to get back into skydiving here in MN have screwed me over and I’m kind of getting sick of it. Time is running out with winter coming so I’m now planning on going to Eloy for approx. 3 weeks of being a DZ bum and just jumping my ass off. But before I do I wanted to throw this out there to anybody that is familiar with Eloy’s ASP course. Basically I’ll take along a tent and live on the DZ for the time that I’m there. It will be a few months before I can do it, so basically the middle of winter. My main question is – is this a good deal, or would I be better off going somewhere else? I’ve looked at Perris, Sebastian, and other DZ’s that aren’t freezing cold in the winter. Thanks.Josh"Well I may be crazy, but YOU'RE boring!"
Fawgdog 0 #2 October 16, 2001 I didn't do the package deal, I did it on a Pay-When-Ican plan... worked out well for me because I didnt have the 1600 to toss into it at the time. As for the School out here, It is awesome. Pretty much sums it up...
quade 4 #3 October 16, 2001 Without knowing EXACTLY what's covered in the costs, it's kind of difficult to tell exactly how good a deal it is, but I'm almost certain that Eloy would be competitive with the rest of the local market. That said, you can't go wrong training at Eloy or Perris. Both are top notch facilities and much warmer than where you're at now!It will get a bit nippy at altitude no matter where you go in the middle of winter though, but at least in the southern latitudes you probably won't be landing in snow.Have fun.Paulfuturecam.com/skydive.html
mountainman 0 #4 October 18, 2001 Also, as far as staying there...dont they have a bunkhouse in Eloy? This may be good if you'll be there for 3 weeks. A tent will get DAMN uncomfortable after about 4 days. Just an FYI.--------------Brandon Wren
Bricki 0 #5 October 18, 2001 Hi Josh,I'm from germany so I don't know much about your local packages and prices. But during my stay in Eloy in Feb 2001 a guy made this education and after his jumps with Skydive U they made a 4way RW with Skydive U and collected 6 points as far as I can remember! During the same time, I made started some RW with my wife. We both had round about 80 jumps in our records at that time and we were happy about getting 2 points! So it (especially Skydive U) can't be so bad.Be safePeter
