Pete Allum Rocks!!!

Recommended Posts

Pete was my and Squeak's tunnel coach this past Friday. We each had 1/2 hour with him split over 2 sessions so that he could debrief us in between times.

I can't speak highly enough of him. He's got a great personality, noice accent, and can make you learn a ton while having fun and not realizing you're learning. :D

He got my knees to work - I'm able to do ok knee turns now. YEAH!!!! And, he had me doing verticals and the most fun 2 minutes were AFF. :D He acted like an AFF student and had me stay within reach of him the whole time. At one point, I was laughing so hard, I couldn't get to him. It's hard not to laugh with the big grin he has - especially when you get something that a few seconds ago you weren't - and seeing someone completely stable but flailing their arms and legs all over....:D:D:D

I'd highly recommend him as a coach if you ever get the opportunity.

And, in April....I get to play in the tunnel with Olaf, eeneR, Gretchen (forget her DZ.com name), Mailin, and hopefully, FlyAngel2. B|

pete is an absolute GEM. one of the world's best without a doubt.

you did good by hiring him cora. he's a phenomenal skydiver and coach with an equally impressive personality (and family). :)
as an aside, pete is the first person that i ever saw bootie fly when we were at the harvest moon boogie in SC several years back. i haven't been right since... it was the start of my non-belly flying. :P

I'd love to jump with him, and if I ever get the opportunity, I'm dragging him up on a jump. B|

He was totally cute talking about his family and kids. It's nice to see how happy he is to be a family man. B|

Our last tunnel camp group in April he was visiting or working with some others (we were with Chromy, Lise A and Steve Hamilton - great camp by the way).

Pete just walked up and started talking to some of us, asking about jumping, what we're doing, where we're from etc. Really personable guy, class act.

One thing I've noticed, nearly all the top RW people in that class are this way, just confident and cool. Here's a difference in skydiving I'll stand behind. (unusual, because I absolutely hate generalizations - in general)

Our professionals athletes are much cooler than most other sports pros.

Don't count on me for the tunnel time. I do have to head back out to Florida the end of Feb. But, it won't be to fly in the tunnel. Got some RW stuff to take care of.

just dragging up this thread to add my 2 cents worth. myself and two friends recently made the trip from the great white north to florida for some coaching and fun jumps. pete was our coach for three days at the dz and 3 half hours in the tunnel. had a great time, learned a ton. weather kept us on the ground a lot (8 jumps in 3 days), but i still think we more than got our money's worth. the info he gave us on dive planning and flow were very enlightening.

on a personal level, i have to agree with everyone here, he's always smiling, always positive. if you ever get an opportunity to work with pete, take it, you won't regret it.B|

I did some tunnel time with Pete in January, and you guys are definitely right - it was worth every penny. I learned a lot from him and had a great time. I was a little nervous going in since I hadn't worked with a coach before, but he was so low key about everything and every encouraging. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a coach, hope I get a chance to work with him again.

I did some 10 hours with my old team in the tunnel with Pete Allum & T. Hughes. Those are the best coaches you can find in my mind ;). They say UK people are cold bloded .... well those two are hotter than Florida in the summer :P. The passion and knowledge coming from them is unbelievable . They are the best in my mind :)

He's incredible not just for tunnel and individual flying but for team stuff as well - in the three camps we've had with him so far (one tunnel and two jumping), he's helped our team improve beyond way beyond what I thought could have been possible in a such a short time (and over our winter). His understanding of team dynamics (and his expertise in block, exit, and random work technique) help make him a very effective coach. We look forward to training with him over the course of the year. Hire him if you get the chance, you won’t regret it…

I agree 1000%
Pete coached me in 8 way prior to the world meet in '93.
He was beyond awesome and saved the team from self induced meltdown on the eve of the meet.
You will not go wrong with Mr Alum as a coach, whatever your level or needs.

Pete you ROCK!
