jumpjunkie2004 0 #1 March 13, 2005 I'm new to the sport - only 8 jumps so far. A friend of mine has made arrangements for an hour of Orlando tunnel time on March 20th - that's 30 minutes for each of us. I have 5 of 8 of my jumps on video and it seems I'm doing something funky when I leave the plane. Is this something we can work on at the tunnel? Any suggestions or recommendations?Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
diablopilot 2 #2 March 14, 2005 QuoteAny suggestions or recommendations? Either get coaching or talk with the tunnel rat about what goals and skills you wish to work on before the session. Be early, you'll get more help that way. If possible try to split that time. More than 15 minutes in one session is hard to do and the learning curve drops off. Buy the video. It's valuble for debriefs. Have fun.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
jumpjunkie2004 0 #3 March 14, 2005 Thanks for the 411. We've got a coach - his name is Ron. I hope we are able to get video - I didn't think to ask about that. I'm glad you responded to my post. I'll be sure to find out now! Have a nice week.Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
diablopilot 2 #4 March 14, 2005 Bring a tape or buy one there (usually about $5), that is if Ron isn't bringing one already.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I have a large group with 7 hours of time on Sunday alone. Maybe we can find a way to let you spread out your time by splitting off with one of our slots. That would let you and your friend go a half hour twice over two sessions with a rest instead of all crunched into one hour. Since Ron is one of our coaches too, it is possible we could find a way to make that work. Best to work it out Fri or Sat once we are all there. If you come find me on Saturday, we could try to see what we can do. I'll send you my cell number, but it's likely I'll be in or around tunnel most all day on Saturday. Regardless, stop by anyway and say hi. ... LittleOne 0 #8 March 14, 2005 Stretch thoroughly before and after your slot. Flying on your belly in the tunnel can be very strenuous, especially for a beginner. Have fun!

jumpjunkie2004 0 #11 March 15, 2005 Hello Ron! I'm very excited about our tunnel time and I've heard great things about you. Thanks for asking about my ankle. It's been six months since the injury and I'm just starting to run again. It's going to be a long road back to where I was "before". I've got a ton of arthritis - it was my fourth broken ankle...eek. I'll see you soon! We're going to have so much fun!Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

rehmwa 2 #18 March 15, 2005 QuoteNext question..anyone know how I am so stupid as to book an additional hour on a 23 hour camp? As the obsessive organizer, and even 24 hours has a roundness that really sets it up nice. It helped me out immensely for the Sunday scheduling. What I thought was funny was you in the tunnel doing the 1st camp stuff with only 2 new jumpers. One hour straight flying with no verbal input? Maybe I could have swung an assistant coach job for an hour..... And this hour sandwiched in the only break the coaches have in a 6 hour stretch was an outstanding addition to the whole mix..... Really, you're a decent guy for taking on two new jumpers on a busy weekend. We'll still kick your butt though, I have people that need to learn things!!! And that beer to buy. ...
