What is your tunnel schedule/goals?

Recommended Posts

Hola, I just wanted to see if anyone had any form of structured training program.

It would be cool to see what new/experienced flyers hoped to accomplish and how that reality matched their expectations.

What you choose to work on in the tunnel depends largely on what your goals are. Do you use tunnel flight as a vehicle for improving your skydiving skills or just for the personal gratification of flying your body? Are you interested in RW (formation skydiving), freefly, freestyle, or ?

There is an organization that has set forth a tunnel progression that will help you learn in a safe and logical manner. Their website is here: http://www.tunnelflight.com/

Personally, I work on a bit of everything. I have goals of course, but they will take time to achieve and when I get to that point, I'll probably set some new goals. So I doubt I'll ever say that I am "done" working on a particular skill. There's always room for improvement.

We're starting the 4way season with a 12 hour camp (7 skydivers) in early April organized/coached by a good friend.

For my 4way team -
Basic individual skills progression to start (1 on 1 coaching with a pro) followed by 4way stuff as follows:
Stop drills
verticals
stop drills
block review
stop drills
maybe some stop drills
some goofing off
if possible some training in B slots too....
stop drills if we have time

whatever it takes, The big keys for us is to get a rhythm based on precision, get our weight requirememts figured out, and a bunch of air time together then we can add in speed and power as we recover from the winter off. I suspect with time sharing we'll each have 4 or 5 hours of flying time over 3 days

this is typical for a season starter for us - what's missing is the mid season tunnel camp and coaching we always need - I'm hoping to do that this year

even better, we have a new teammate and this will give him a head start on the season and we can have video for the mockery

...
Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
