According to the website it was supposed to be open late in 2007 but either their site has not been updated or its not open yet. Anyone hear anything about it? The closest ones to you that are (for the most part) under construction are near NYC in the Xanadu complex - but even that is a lonnnnnnggggg way from existing. Have they broken ground on it are their parts under construction for it yet? sovietskee 0 #4 January 20, 2008 From what I've heard fun jumpers at XKeys say, it seems that the people who own the rights to the Franklin Mills tunnel are simply sitting on the rights so that they can sell it to someone who actually has the money neccessary to construct it. But this may all be rumors so who knows. I go to Franklin Mills on occasion and I haven't seen any signs of a wind tunnel being built. IMO I think it's all BS at this point. However, you are correct about the funding issue. Everywhere I have looked seems to issue conflicting information on the subject. I have read that it was planned....lost funding....got funding and was started.... I have read that it was planned, started, and then lost funding and is now stalled... I have also read that it was planned started...lost funding...got new funding and is back under-way.... I do agree with the philly tunnel nay-sayers though. "Flip this tunnel" perhaps? True, there is the Franklin Mills one thats being talked about (the one many people figure was purchased by people who can't build it...waiting to sell it at a profit to someone who can build it) And the Xanadu one...that is in Northern Jersey (the Medowlands to be specific), which is Just outside of NYC. Its right next to Giants Stadium). Roughly 2 hours from Philly. But both tunnels are FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR from ever being started...much less blowing air. I was told that the person that has the licensing rights sold the fans that he had purchased to some wealthy individual that wanted to build a tunnel, but did not want to wait for fans, sooooooooooo the Philly tunnel seems on hold for an even more indefinite time, no clue what is happening with Xanada's tunnel(s).Not again!
