tunnelmom 0 #1 October 13, 2008 At the Guantlett there was a lot of talk about putting together a "tunnel circuit" so that each of the tunnels, or at least 3 or 4 of the tunnels would host a competition once a year. The Guantlett was so much fun that there seemed to be a lot of interest in this. Even the 12 foot tunnels could have quite a few different events, artistic routines, 2 way VRW, etc. I am just curious what people would think of this and how many might attend an event like this in a smaller tunnel. It seemed like the Orlando competition was also very successful in September. We are thinking of doing one in Colorado at the end of January and trying to get an idea of the participation level. Based on feedback from teams at the Guantlet, it would be potentially very successful to do this on a regular basis. I am just curious who out there would be interested in participating in something like this? Also, what type of feedback would people have for the types of events to have in a 12 foot tunnel other than 2 way vrw and artistic routines. We should definitely have MORE tunnel comps in 2009. Thanks!! Tunnel circuit would be great and i think that should include the "slow" tunnels having to adjust and fly in different speeds will only add more excitement to competition. Ray kubiak is a perfect example of someone who can do both very well. PS SVO just upgraded and should be topping out now at over 155mph!!! You will probably want to take the diffusers out from under the doors in the colorado tunnel though if you want to have 4-way, because those things will definitely cause issues for competitors when near the doors. With two tunnels (soon three) in the UK, we can represent the UK
 Kimsdu 0 #6 October 20, 2008 4-way VRW is doable in a 12 foot recirculator, so there's no reason to leave that out. :) The higher windspeeds of the recirculators make them "feel" bigger when doing VRW so it shouldn't be a problem for most teams I think. At this time 4 way VRW is definitly not doable in Orlando when topped out ........ 2 way HD static is hard enough however Orlando should be getting speeds of 155mph soon so we will keep you posted.... Anyone know? I've got a trip to Orlando coming up and fancy another few hours in there... Gotta big up my Orlando buddies Chris and Nick. Thanks for putting up with me last time!
