stormywinters 1 #4 March 5, 2009 Nice one Boris. Does the wind get faster? Can it do VFS? Love to see more footage!
dragon2 2 #5 March 5, 2009 Quote What's a "bottrop"? Bottrop = City in Germany, famous for indoor skiing, and now for indoor skydiving too, yay It's actually a bit closer to me/our DZ than our Dutch tunnel is ciel bleu, Saskia
GrahamClarke 0 #6 March 7, 2009 QuoteNice one Boris. Does the wind get faster? Can it do VFS? Love to see more footage! I heard they were flying at 63% of max fan RPM, so yes, expect it can get a lot quicker. Graham
Flyboris 0 #7 March 8, 2009 This was a bit faster but it still has a lot more power. ;) And really smooth. 4way VFS will be no problem, we designed it for it.
kirkverner 0 #8 March 10, 2009 It looks like the same design as a SkyVenture tunnel ParacleteXP

kirkverner 0 #10 March 11, 2009 How is it different? Fans at the bottom? ParacleteXP
stormywinters 1 #11 March 11, 2009 That "Wind Deflector" under the door may not be helping the quality of air around the door. You may not even need it. Some tunnels opperate without them, or just one(with a two door system). If anything, try different sizes, working towards the smallest "deflector". May help keep people from falling out the door. Flyboris 0 #12 March 12, 2009 Not at the bottom and not at the top. We have the fan there, where a regular formula one windtunnel has it, opposite to the test section. Gives a max distance upstream and downstream to the flight chamber. Cheers B
Flyboris 0 #13 March 12, 2009 Thanks for the input with the deflector. That was just an oversized version of the Ankara-Deflector from the military Tunnel in Turkey, just for the first tests. We try several versions to find the best solution for this enviroment. Cheers B
MartinOlsson 0 #14 March 14, 2009 Do you have any full power video? Any new info on the opening date? Me and a bunch of guys up here in the north are considering the Bottrop tunnel for our next tunnel trip and would really love some more info/proof :) /Martin
GrahamClarke 0 #15 March 15, 2009 Nice pictures Boris. Say hello to Bernd, he was our coach for about a year and is a good friend. He's an awesome coach. Expect to visit your tunnel later in the year. Graham
dancy 0 #16 December 29, 2009 Are you really planning to build a wind tunnel in München, too? That would be really great because it's closer to Hungary where I live :-)
