1) That my friends and I had to wait in line to get our flight time in
and
2) That half the building was still being cleaned up from construction!
I spoke to one of the people, not sure if he was the manager or investor but he indicated that due to the demand they opened up sooner than expected and that they expected to be in the black much sooner.
And seeing the TWO bachloret parties that were ahead of us each of which had about 10 girls in their group I could see why!

QuoteGood luck on the MBA though ~ getting one of those is on my 'to do' list.
If you need it to progress in your current job, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd suggest waiting a few years as the job market for newly minted mba's stinks as you're competing against mba holders with years/decades of experience that are willing to work at less than traditional mba entry-level rates just to have a job. Plus, a lot of people decided the loss of income from grad school wasn't so bad in such a tough job market, so record numbers have applied/been accepted in recent years. Both of those means that there's an absolute glut of mba's right now, and even in economic recovery, there's going to be a larger supply than demand for a quite while.

And my employer offered to pay sooooooo who was I to say no.
I had my hopes up of meeting new and exciting women since the divorce occured the week before I started class......but......no. 7 dudes, 7 chicks.....who all have rug rats or little kids and can't seem to stop talking about them.
But I think I will do okish. I went to school for mechanical engineering for my BS I have a six sigma green belt and black belt, two patents thus far and a good 10 years experience so I think I may be ok....but who knows?

Would it be rude if I just called one of the tunnels and asked about construction costs and operation costs?

QuoteWow next to no data on this subject?

Seriously? You're asking if doing some primary research is the right way to go? I'd certainly hope you weren't going to base your entire project on anecdotes you got from an online forum with other people doing your research for you.
Go to the SkyVenture corporate website. Look at the investor center. Right there that will get you a lot of information. Get in contact with them, tell them what you're doing and ask for more information. Call up your closest tunnel and see if you can schedule some time to talk to the general manager and/or one of the investors.
You're doing a project for a masters' program, not a 6th grade class project. Act like it.

Except for a few exceptions, I suspect that the number of tunnels on hold is not necessarily related to profitability.QuoteHmmm, Given the fact that a good number of tunnel projects are currently on hold, well, I think you choose a hard project. Good luck on the MBA though ~ getting one of those is on my 'to do' list.
It's just that tunnels
-- attract individual investors such as skydivers, who have more limited investment funds relative to Wall Street.
-- are a capital-intensive project, with potential cost overrun
-- can run into problems with municipal, from things such as electric supply to city ordanances, zoning.
-- when cost overruns occur, it is hard to convince angel investors to pitch in, because not everyone is familiar with tunnels.
--> Newark rights are tied up, I think. The upcoming Xanadu/Meadowlands mall, opening later 2011, is supposed to have iFly Meadowlands at one point.QuoteWho knows maybe Newark NJ may get one

--> There's alternatively Manhattan rights, but I think the rights to the area has already been tied up too, some investors wanted to put a Skyventure on a barge parked off Manhattan. You may have to purchase rights and/or due-diligence from someone else.
--> But go ahead and ask Skyventure if there is any leftover regional rights elsewhere.

Who knows?
But it would be nice!
but you know what I can't seem to find. Any floor plans of wind tunnels? How many sq ft does one need? 50k sqft?

There is talk....lots of unusual talk...I have no clue what the hell is going on. I'm on my day off due to the snow and I have fielded 5 phone calls from friends and friends of friends.
I may have to call up skyventure soon because there are questions I have no answers for....such as power consumption and how fast can it be built and license fees!
This is very nutty!
Does any one have any good videos with music of indoor skydiving. Mostly what I've seen has been SHIT!
