Andy9o8 2 #2 August 18, 2011 They've been talking about a NYC-region tunnel for years. Never gets past the "gather the investors" stage. Last time it was supposedly to be near the Meadowlands. Never happened. Note how their website acknowledges they haven't even determined their location yet. Rule of thumb: unless you actually see the foundation has been dug and poured, and the construction workers are actively busy on-site, don't hold your breath. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=forum_42&search_string=meadowlands&search_type=AND&search_fields=sb&search_time=&search_user_username=&sb=post_time&mh=
PhreeZone 20 #3 August 18, 2011 The website was just registered on 7/21/2011. Until the foundation is in place and the motors are ready to be installed don't believe anything is going to open. I've heard talk of tunnels in NY, NJ, Chicago, and even second tunnels going up near existing tunnels and none of those have happened yet.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
jimartle 0 #4 August 19, 2011 Agreed. Before they can get anything in in the Meadowlands they're going to have to replace most of the exposed electrics, and stop the parking garage from sinking into the swamp. Don't look for a tunnel there anytime soon.
vanair 0 #5 August 22, 2011 what happened to the outdoor one at great adventure? Mt creek? NJ saw it in action in the early 90s being demoed but wasn't taking customers.

borisattva 0 #7 September 17, 2011 is there some political, or regulatory reason that tri state area doesn't have a wind tunnel near by? i know there are a lot of skydivers in NYC. and a lot more would want to work on their freeflying techniques if it didnt involve the cost and travel. so what are the biggest hurdles? shah269 0 #8 September 17, 2011 Right now? $$$$$$ and $$$$$$ and.... $$$$$$$ At the moment Skyventure has a dual tunnel on the books....so no one wants to invest $$$$$ if Skyventure has it locked up.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
