PhreeZone 20 #1 April 2, 2015 http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2015/04/02/is-indoor-skydiving-coming-to-roseville.html It appears a skydiving business is in the works in Roseville. The catch? It won't use actual sky. The city of Roseville's planning department is reviewing entitlements for a proposed indoor skydiving facility at 118 Harding Blvd., according to an April newsletter from the city's economic development department. The 4,097-square-foot business would come from iFly, a Texas-based company that has 35 locations covering the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. Representatives from iFly were not immediately available for comment. Roseville would be the company's third California location, joining sites in Union City and the Hollywood area. At iFly, customers "float" on air created by a vertical wind tunnel. The experience includes training from an instructor and doesn't require a parachute or jumping. "Flights" within the wind tunnel last 60 seconds, according to the company's website. Prices start at $59.95, the website says. Intrigued? Watch the video below for a better idea of what the experience involves.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

NWFlyer 2 #3 April 2, 2015 Sacramento. That's been in the rumor mill around here for a while. Will be nice to have an alternative to our (now-ancient by tunnel standards) 12-footer. Boomerdog 0 #4 April 3, 2015 Just a quick geographical point. Roseville is about 20 miles West/Northwest of Sacramento. Roseville is in Placer County and Sacramento is in Sacramento, County. Urban growth has of course connected the cities but there was a time I remember quite well when there was a lot of empty land between them. Of the two locations, Roseville would (IMHO) work better. base698 15 #9 July 7, 2015 Will this be a 14 footer or one like iFly Seattle, etc or a "10 footer" like Hollywood? I'd heard a 10 footer.
vincearnone 0 #10 July 7, 2015 base698Will this be a 14 footer or one like iFly Seattle, etc or a "10 footer" like Hollywood? I'd heard a 10 footer. My guess is a 12 footer. The rendering of the Sacramento location: http://www.indoorskydivingsource.com/photos/ifly-sacramento-rendering/ looks the same as the two Brazilian tunnels which are 12 footers via the Skyventure Site: http://www.skyventure.com/tunnels/locations/ I could be wrong and that rendering is just a new style or isn't tied to the size of the tunnel in any way. Just guessing.Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource

that_guy 0 #15 July 15, 2015 I took a few pictures of the Roseville iFly construction site. It's right next to the highway behind a wells fargo bank. Deep foundation is under way and some of the pieces of ducting are there.
Navarrete7 0 #16 August 7, 2015 I emailed Skyventure and they confirmed that it will be a "12 foot new model tunnel, full re-circulating single floor tunnel, full AC air flow... We hope to open early 2016"
