robes 0 #7 April 4, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njZZPvIZ1jY 'Grant goes skydiving' It's up on you tube. Channel 7 Sunrise is touting this as a world first real time feed. Sorry to tell them it had been done before with an Aussie called Daryl Somers on what used to be a very popular show called "Hey hey it's Saturday". They did a live feed jump out of Darwin some 20 years ago. Over all Grant's jump was great and did a lot to promote the Aussie nationals being held over Easter. Grant is a bit of a thrillseeker and gets all types of crazy dares to do whilst reading the weather.
milehigheric 0 #8 April 4, 2012 I couldn't imagine the camera/transmission gear making it a routine operation friendly exercise. Reminds me a little of the Imax base film...that was some dedicated camera haha Couldn't help but laugh at the wuffo expressions on Lisa's little line twist too. robes 0 #9 April 4, 2012 The team behind Grant are specialsits in 'live feed'. Many of his weather presentations have been from some of the most isolated areas in Australia. Not very often do they miss the half hourly presentations between 6 and 9 am. The Seven network has been developing remote cameras for motor sports since the late seventies. What you see in your Nascar in car footage is from equipment developed by them. Grant also races V8 Supercars, Holden (GM) vs Ford. Any one in the USA ever heard of the Bathust 1000? A 1000klm race around public road on a mountain. Have a look on you tube for some of the most spectacular road racing ever done. If the mountain don't get you the kangaroos will.
