mountainman 0 #1 April 10, 2001 I am going to be doing AFF in June at Skydrome Air Sports. They have a VR "thing" that they use in training. Can anyone tell me more about this and possible a web-site that I can check out that has more info?? Thanks a lot!!Brandon Wrenhttp://www.onu.edu/user/student/stu5784

mountainman 0 #3 April 11, 2001 Hey man...thanks for the link, but I am looking for Virtual Reality to be used for skydiving training. Not the wind tunnels! Thanks a lot though.Brandon and Laurahttp://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/a work in progress
SkySlut 0 #4 April 11, 2001 The only place that I have seen that simulatot is at ESPNZone in Manhattan. I also saw a picture of someone using one at the PIA Symposium. Maybe you could contact someone @ PIA.com and see if they have a list of vendors that attended this years symposium and see if they can help you out. "I'll jump anything!" mattb 0 #5 April 11, 2001 The US repair shop for for Cypres (SSK?) had one at the Winter Expo at Skydive Chicago. It took me a second to realize that I had to tilt my head up after deploying to see that I had line twists. Pretty fun.-mob
mountainman 0 #6 April 11, 2001 skyslut...thanks for the info. I will try to find something online about that. I will be going down there tomorrow to see the DZ and check out things, so maybe they'll let me see how it works. I am also going to try and get a job down there as a packer to pay for my jumps:) Talk to y'all later!!Brandon and Laurahttp://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/a work in progress

mountainman 0 #9 April 12, 2001 I finally got my info packet of information today from Aerodrome Sky Sports where I am going to be taking my AFF next year. It had a brochure on the VR simulator for canopy training. This is only offered at two DZ's in the US right now: the one that I'm going to and then the Cleveland DZ in Cleveland, OH. They are both within 3 hrs of me. Anyway, I am totally syked for this. FYI, this is what Prez. G. Bush Sr. practiced on before his AFF several years ago. Should be a great learning tool. Do you think they'll let me swoop or do hook turns on the simulator before my first jump?? (Didn't think so, but it was a thought!)Blue skiesBrandon and Laurahttp://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/a work in progress
Kirils 1 #10 April 12, 2001 I have used the VR personally at Cleveland skydive. I think it's a great tool for learning canopy control.Give Bob Gates a call at 800-TLC-JUMP.
