venwood 0 #1 March 23, 2001 My two friends and I want to do a banner dive. The three of us entered into the AFF program at the same time. We have all graduated the program and are all at the same/different progression through post A license buying beer festivities. Throughout our joint experience we have tried to spread the word about sky diving and have been successful in our company and friends, we have had about a little less than 10 other people jump from just listening to our experiences (we started jumping in October of 2000). The point of this post is that our "leader" has suggested a great idea, that we jump holding a banner of our company, take a pic, and post it in a newsletter (to spread the holy word of sky diving a little more). Initially, we are "planning" to dive with a banner 6 to 8 ft long, and 1 foot tall. The banner would be stretched between two of us and the other would just be hovering free in the middle. Any of you sky diving wizards have any experiences or helpful suggestions in completing such a sky dive?Flying Not like the name,VenwoodPS forgive me for also posting this in talk back, just looking for good feedback. Tee 0 #2 March 27, 2001 Hi Venwood. I tried to find this post on the "Talk back" forum to see what answers you have received but to no avail, so I hope I'm not repeating suggestions that you have already heard. From my experience, you may want to make a long banner big enough for a person at each end and one in the middle. This would make a 2 person linked exit easy and have the 3rd person (the one in the middle) fly in. Upon exit, the two people that are linked will already be holding the banner on their ends, let go of each other when stable and allow the middle person to dock on the banner.Just my 2 cents.
