PalmettoTiger 1 #5 July 30, 2001 The site has grown tremendously in the past 6 months, the forums especially. As more posts are made, the server must sort through a larger database. Most people here post during the workday (check the number of posts at 8 am, noon, 5 pm, and 9 pm CST and you'll see that most of them are made during working hours), so that's when the server is slowest. sangiro 25 #6 August 4, 2001 Folks - I'm aware of this. I've purhased a dedicated server - the move will be completed when I get back from vacation. The database is not too large for the forums...my current host is simply a drag! On a dedicated server I should be able to optimize my database tables much easier and run the forum under mod_perl which will provide substantial performance gains.Give me a some time - I'll beat it down.
