freeflydrew 0 #1 October 23, 2003 When I type a message and click any of the buttons below the text area (code, reply, quote, b, u, i, email, url), the code always shows up at the very end of the message... Even if I place the cursor right at the beginning, it always inserts at the end! Any thoughts? -drew

Because it places any markup code where I want it, whether I type it inline or go back and insert a code. What browser/OS are you using? Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. wmw999 2,439 #4 October 23, 2003 Are you using Netscape or IE? I find that it does that (puts it at the end) in Netscape, and where I have the cursor in IE. However, with Netscape mail, I miss a whole lot of viruses that go around, so it's a fair trade. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
AggieDave 6 #5 October 23, 2003 Nutscrape draws tables slower, so it must suck for using in a table intense environment like DZ.com.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
freeflydrew 0 #6 October 23, 2003 I'm definitely placing the cursor correctly... I suspect the problem is Safari... Which is the only problem I've seen with it so far. Oh well! (I'm running 10.3 Panther and IE sucks on the mac)
jceman 1 #7 October 23, 2003 I suspect you're right. Guess you're "restricted" to using the markup icons while composing. If you place your cursor where you want the markup to start/begin, can you insert it manually i.e. "{b}" for bold (using the proper square brackets)? Just curious because this sort of aberrant silicon behavior fascinates me. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them? freeflydrew 0 #8 October 23, 2003 of course... this is a strange thing, though... It's probably the way that this operating system handles the html from the dz.com buttons. Hey, at least I don't get viruses!
