cruzlite 0 #1 October 25, 2003 After much frustration with the quality of my avatar (icon) attempts, (& many searches) I found a site that has freeware with resampling that gives better results for me than my PS Elements2.0-(and is easier to use). It is written by a grad. student from Vienna, Irfan Skiljan. ( Note; 'Free' for home use) Link is; http://www.irfanview.com/ Step by step; I scanned 8x10 into PS, & saved.(tif for printing & archiving). Copied to jpg; cropped and saved. Openned in IrfanView-reduced using resampling, adjusted size and dimentions less than 9.5kb-less than 65w x 75h. pixels. Sweeeeet! Installation Note; When installing, you must create folder; "IrfanView" on your local disk, (with rest of program files) exe file will not do this for you. Also; When choosing file associations, I only choose those I knew I would use & avoided plugins. & Oh yes, I scanned with Norton before instalation. D Still could be better-Anybody?
