BASE813 0 #1 March 9, 2004 I would find it handy to have the country that people live in in small font under peoples users names on posts instead of having to look at their profiles. This would help with the international coverage that DZ has and also be user friendly that people can see straight away if the postings are by someone from their country. Just a thought............ TomAiello 26 #2 March 9, 2004 I'll second that. I think it would also avoid a lot of confusion, and some resulting hard feelings. I've seen flame wars started when someone asked "is it ok to do X?" and someone else quote chapter and verse from the US FAR's at the them, not realizing that they were in Australia (or wherever). I've taken to checking profiles before answering questions if I don't know where someone is from, because the correct answer to a host of simple questions (like, "where is it easiest for me to take a first jump course?") are highly location dependent. Showing location on each post would save me a fair amount of work (in addition to it's other benefits).-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
mr2mk1g 10 #3 March 10, 2004 Yeah - so many answers have to be prefaced with "where are you" or "depends where you are" because people still don't fill in any info on thier profile... Who's gonna be worried if their ID automatically includes their home country.
Liemberg 0 #4 March 12, 2004 Me too, me too... 1. It could be 'automated' easily (I think?) 2. My spelling and grammar would be looked at more forgiving (or is it forgivingly? Whatever...
