Soudej 0 #1 August 19, 2004 It would be helpful if canopy size was stated in the tag line of each ad - a required field could be added that would require each new ad to contain this. I hate having to open each ad only to see that the canopy is either way too big or small for me to consider. Thanks.
sangiro 25 #2 August 19, 2004 Yup - we've had this discusion before. It's a good suggestion. I will be making some changes to the Classifeds to make it even easier to use in the future.Safe swoops Sangiro
gweeks 1 #3 August 20, 2004 It would also be nice to have hit counters on the ads.

whiterabbit 0 #5 September 23, 2004 I mean, I'm sure you're already considering what I'm about to suggest, but just in case -- don't stop with just the main canopy size. For complete rigs (for example), you're going to almost always want to know the DOM for each component, the number of jumps on each component, the size of both canopies, the battery life left on the AAD, etc -- these might as well all be part of the classified form that you fill out when you post a new ad. This would make the ads infinitely easier to search as well.

PhreeZone 20 #7 September 25, 2004 My opinion is that the classifieds are more of a brief advertising for an item you have for sale, but the potential buyer should be taking the time to get the additional information. The owner will be able to give you the majority of the answers Just because a Rig says it was made for 5'6"-5'8" does not mean it will fit you. The owner might be 5'8" and 250 pounds and you are 5'6" 135 lbs. The better answer would be to list the serial numbers. Manufactors have on record the serials and sizes of rigs they made. Using your measurements they will be able to tell you if the rig will fit you or if it will not be comfortable. The Serial # will also be able to tell you if its had majory factory service done. Canopies are different, but similar in that at least PD keeps very detailed records of all their canopies and they can give toy a service history of the canopy. Looking at a Lightning and need to know weither its Demo, Rotation or Sequential trim? The factory can tell you by just the serial #.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
