Mouse-over brief thread description

Don't know if these 2 suggestions have come up:

1. Some forums allow, while in a threadlist view, allow one to put the mouse over a thread subject and the first few sentences of the thread topic will popup in a typical windowtip style box (you know the yellow kind?)

2. Also, I like how the folder to the left of a forum shows orange if there's unread posts, or empty if all the threads are read. What about a different color for forums that have NEW threads (versus just unread posts)?
