Safari and Firefox issues (Mac)

Recommended Posts

With the Safari and Firefox browsers, when I go to a forum which has new posts in several threads, I click on one thread, then go back to the forum, and EVERY thread is marked as read. Never used to happen that way before.

OS X version 10.3.7.

Additionally... clicking on a thread that has multiple pages doesn't take me to the page which has the newest post, whereas IE on XP does.

I know people with Mac's aren't the largest user population, but it'd be nice if someone could test this stuff on that platform.

Thanks in advance!

What versions of those browsers are you using?

For what it's worth (not a whole lot, I'm sure) I've been using Firefox/Linux since it was called Phoenix (0.6?) and Firefox/Windows since 0.9 and have never noticed either of those issues. I'm not sure why the behavior would be different on a Mac.

Backup up your bookmarks first!

In Safari, you can clear Reset the Program under the Safari menu... also dump your dz.com cookies... clear your history... you could also go into the home-->library-->preferences and dump the safari prefs... also dump the contents of the folder Safari in Library in Home...make sure that safari is up to date (which I'm sure it is).

Other than that, there's no reason that this should be happening.

(I don't think that Firefox is better than Safari so I don't use it)

And go to your profile/Display settings on DZ.com and make sure they are set correctly!
